  1. If he stays in the Championship he's a dumbass! He should go on trial with a Prem club or go back to Greece with one of the top clubs!

i dont know if coming to greece yet is a good idea..he has already accostomed himself to english football even though its at a less competitive level then the premiership. i think coming back to greece would be a step forward competition-wise(in comparison to the league 1) but a step backward for his future..he took league 2 by storm and showed that he is ready to establish himself in the higher english leagues. his contract with hartlepool is up this summer and even though they offered him a new contract, i dont think he will stay... i know cardiff and watford are both interested in him and mb spending a season in the championship might be good for him. it could go both ways..if he performs well he could be a premierhsip gk very soon. the thing is, he is not that young...he is 29..keep in mind this is still fairly young for a gk. but if he does not establish himself quickly, an epl move could not happen for acouple years. so in that sense, coming back to greece could be a better idea...i would have no problem with him being paos next gk but for his club career, staying in england might be a better idea...

i dont care if hes in the championship, compeititon there is still very very high and if he performs well, i see no reason why he could not be called up the the NT and prove himself...

i would like to see him in greece too dude cause from what i saw he is a very good keeper...but only he can asses what is right for his career...

  2. city have a problem with servicing their strikers..samaras cant score unless he receives soom good balls from the midfield...citys midfield with the excpetion of barton is poor...when they serve him, he has scored..he is probabaly one of the brightest talents on the team but unless he has some decent players around him, what is he to do?? the kid is promising but i think moving to city was a bad idea..lucky he is still young and has the potential to develop even further..from what i hear he is an eager learner which is good for a kid his age...city is putting too much pressure on their strikers to produce goals but dont realize that they have no one that can provide..

as aekros said..he statistically is still on the top of the man city points chart even as he is getting all this slack...

barton is just frsutrated..he has the potential to be at a big club but is playing for poor ol city witha bunch of mediocre players..he has worked hard but has very little to show for it..not to mention his inabitlity to break into the national side...i wouldnt look too much into it..samaras is a talented youngster and will develop just fine...

he would have been better off going to arsenal when they were calling for him...wenger has his way with young talent and i could see samaras gaining alot of expereince at arsenal, even if they loaned him out for a season or twso i think arsenal could have been a better choice for him...when they were looking at him they didnt have the striker force they have now, so it is too late in my opinion, but it might have been a better move for him at the tme....just a thought though

  3. apparently athletico were looking at him too as it seems costihna and maniche are done with the team this summer...now thats a move i approve of..katsou and gourkas on the same team...two of the best foreign based greek players playing together..karagounis should come too :D

  4. i have to commend gkekas on his season so far..his goal scorng record has proven very worthy and is the only hope bochum have...they would be lost if it were not for him but with my praise comes alittle critisicism..if gkekas wants to play for a big club he has to improve his work rate...he is a great goalscorer and has a great eye for goal but he does not really contribute much else..ive heard some top german clubs like stuttgard were interested in him and in order for him to succeed i feel as though he needs to work on his overall game alittle more..regardless, his goal scoring has been phenomenal and i am happy he found his feet in germany..BRAVO PALIKARI!

  5. He did hustle for that goal. But how many times did City break down the wing through Sinclair who waited and waited for Samara to jog in to the box? He doesn't make good runs into the box, or indeed anywhere. You're right though, he is cunning, and that enables him to create space for himself in the hole behind the front man but when it comes to making good runs to get into a goalscoring positions he is poor.

this can be taught to the kid...today was a good example of his abilitys and weaknesses...hes needs time but also is one of the most promising in the prem...
  6. as i would hate to say, technically, giovanni is a very good player, he has experience with barcelona and unfortunatly, is one of the most technically skilled players in greece...there are many things that you can say supporting, or disproving that he is a good player, this is all opinion...some may think he is a magician, some may think he is horrible..in comaprson to olymiakos and greek football, there is a structure in the way their football is played and no, giovanni does not fit that strucutre...but this is not a bad thing, sometimes it may not be good, but to have a strong team, you need players that have different strengths and weaknesses...as giovanni does, he has many good qualities, and poor qualities as every footballer does...to say he is a horrendous player is very very unreasonable, but to say he is the best overall player in greece is very unreasonalbe too...in the end, he canput the ball in the back of the net, which can only help a team...
