Clover22
Actually I would keep Basinas; he's still playing well so theres no reason for him to go. I would have kept Samaras as a SUB, not as a starter! Why is it so complicated for Otto to see that? This "team" is not a team anymore apparently, its more like a boys club or like what was discussed before, a clique. I haven't been this pessimistic since before Otto! If he's going to Lybe (who should have been called at the beginning of the WC qualifiers) for GODS SAKE use the guy as an attacking mid; not up front with Haristeas and the same old midfield guys behind them. Damianos
Possible line up?? ---------------------- ?????????????????? ----------------------------- Seitaridis ----------- Kyrgiakos ---------- Dellas ------------- Fyssas -------------------- Basinas ---------- Katsouranis ------------------- Karagounis ----------------------------------------------- Giannakopoulos -------------------------------- Amanatidis ------------------------------- ------------------------------- Charisteas --------------------------------- Nikopolidis, Anatolakis and Zagorakis are all too old, and although we thank them for their survices, they have to go. I would say keep Basinas, he isnt that old, and has been playing some good football. If anyone watched the England game, we were getting killed, and we he came on, he actually started making the lads pass!! Vyntra played like absolute crap, and i think he is crap. Downing killed him, and Downing isnt even good. Amanatidis has been playing well and should be given a chance. I dont know who our keeper will be, anyone really!! Players that can come of the bench, obviously Lagos and Salpigidis. Why isnt Samaras in the squad, he's young, and is a good player, just lacking a bit in confidence. Also, why isnt Lakis in the squad. He adds a lot of pace and some variation and change from the rest of our geriatrick players. Hopefully all goes well in Qualifying, i can see it being a lot tougher than everyone thinks. Hopefully Otto forgets his ties to his aging stars and players the best team, the team for the future!!! BRAVO GREECE!!!

Akritis_1944
Looks like it was Samaras' fault the Ethniki has been performing so horribly. Lucky for the whole of the Greek nation that Otto realised just in time for the qualifier and dropped him from the squad.

Just a thought
drakos13
Basinas is actually having a resurgence since Mallorca. He does NOT need to to go, we saw how he improved us dramatically second half with England...

Clover22
What if we were to use Amanatidis, Lybe, Katsouranis and Basinas in midfield? Up front Salpigidis and Haristeas (or Papadopoulos). Would this be the answer to our goal scoring problems? Because you have 4 guys who can score now. And they can shift up front to confuse the defense. Lybe can support but he can also score.
