jimstam Posted September 19, 2005 Share Posted September 19, 2005 Kalhmera, After sifting between all the teams in 2004/05 and 2005/06, I came up with the following list of teams that were promoted from the prefectures (5th divisions) to the Greece 4th Division in 2004/05 for 2005/06 season. Note that there were 153 4th division teams in 2004/05 and 162 in 2005/06 and the reason for the difference is: 1) 10 teams were promoted from 4th to 3rd divisions 2) 46 teams were relegated to 5th divisions 3) 9 teams were demoted from 3rd division (it would have been 10 but 3rd division lost 2 teams ->Atromitos Peristeri merged with Halkithona instead of falling to 3rd, Peristeri Neon Poron disbanded instead of falling to 3rd so AE Ptolemaida Lignitorichi stayed in 3rd vs. falling to 4th to make up for less teams in 3rd division) 4) 56 teams were promoted from the 5th Divisions So, 153-10-46+9+56=162. There are 51 geographical prefectures in Greece. Not all have one team. Attiki has 6 teams (2 in Athens, 2 from Pirea, 1 in West Attiki & 1 in East Attiki), Thessaloniki has 2 teams, Preveza/Levkas share a team, Limnos and Lesvos are both from Lesvos prefecture but have separate championships with winners playing for one spot. Here are the 56 teams promoted from the Greece 5th divisions in 2004/05 to play in 4th division National Amateur Championship in 2005/06. The Groups numbers are the groups in the Greek 4th Division the teams were assigned to in 2005/6.
