JOHNNY Posted October 26, 2004 Share Posted October 26, 2004 Saw a fantastic documentary on possibly the finest ball player seen on these shores, Jimmy 'Jinky' Johnstone of Celtic, who now sadly suffers from motor neurone disease. He played in the great Celtic sides of the 60's and 70's, including the European Cup winning team of 1967. A player who enjoyed nothing more than to beat 3 defenders, then beat them again, all in the name of entertainment, he was very similar in style to the great Hatzipanagis (who incidentally is celebrating his 50th birthday).
