About the best schedule Aris could've hoped for! I like it!

I'd have preferred Bolton at home and Red Star away.

Having said that, the schedule is great. When I first looked at the group my heart sank for Aris, but when I saw the schedule I got excited. Aris will beat Braga at home. The key is then to beat Red Star at home too (who are a decent team but don't travel well). Bolton aren't that good this season either, definitely beatable, although they do have the supremely talented Anelka (not to mention Stelios!) :P

Chances of qualification: 45% :gr:

Using the coefficients of the Greek teams opponents, Larsisa has the toughest draw followed by Aris, AEK, Panionios and PAO.

Don't look at the group, look at the schedule!!!

Two very winnable home games! And another plus: Bayern may have already qualified by the time they meet Aris...

That game is the one i am looking forward to.I want to see one of the high end greek teams play against one of the best european teams and also the way that Bajevic will go about this game.

this could happen....

Red Star - PLEASE ARIS smack those ###### up....will be a tense game because so many Serbs are living in Thessaloniki...

so thats definitly a game to watch

Braga - ARIS SI SE PUEDE

Bolton - get a tie, frustrate them beat them its not that unrealistic to hold them to 1-1 away....small english teams cant do it in European play (very rarely)

Bayern - theyre essentially the UEFA Cup Winners of 2007-08 season, Aris win is beyond a miracle. Thankfully there last, and away. They should be qualified before that match...

The Aris Thessaloniki FC coach Dušan Bajević is bracing himself for two huge UEFA Cup tests after being drawn against FC Bayern München – "the best side in the competition" – and the club that sacked him in March, FK Crvena Zvezda.

'Beautiful football'

The 58-year-old Serbian signed a one-year contract with Aris in early September, with the option to extend until 2010, and promptly guided the Greek team to a UEFA Cup first-round success against Real Zaragoza. Bajević has promised the Aris faithful "beautiful football that they can be proud of" but pragmatism may be the order of the day in Group F, a section completed by England's Bolton Wanderers FC and SC Braga of Portugal.

Vital opener

He said: "Bayern are the best side in the competition and will top our group. We have nothing to lose and we will give it our best shot – I believe we have a fair chance of qualifying. It's important to record a victory in our first home game against Crvena Zvezda in order to lift spirits ahead of our trip to Bolton. We need at least two victories to qualify and won't feel the pressure we had against Zaragoza. I believe in my players' abilities."

Anelka target

A former Yugoslavian international, Bajević knows all Crvena Zvezda, where he took up the coaching reins in May 2006, as well as Bolton midfielder Stelios Giannakopoulos having coached the Greece midfielder at Olympiacos CFP between 1996 and 1999. Giannakopoulos's club-mate Nicolas Anelka deems victory against Bajević's men vital to Bolton's chances of reaching the knockout rounds. "It is a fantastic draw for the club," said the France forward. "We should be capable of beating Braga and Aris at home and it will be all on us to get a point from one of our two matches away in Munich and Belgrade."

Klose confident

The Bayern coach Ottmar Hitzfeld also spoke of "a tough group" following today's proceedings in Nyon, while in-form striker Miroslav Klose said: "If we go into every game fully concentrated then we'll progress no matter what." Braga may be outsiders in the group, but coach Jorge Costa accepts that. The former FC Porto stalwart said: "We like to play big matches, because in the end everyone in the team can take something from them. We'll enjoy this opportunity. I don't know if six points will be enough to get us through to the next stage but seven should do."

Aris should tie bayern because they will qualify with 3 wins so the 4rth game should not be important

yeah sure....

Bayern fields there second team there still better than most European teams by far - Bayern could go to the final with their second team, and Aris will not be a problem, beleive it.

Aris cant rely on getting anything less than a 2-0 in Bavaria...Bayern will be thru but Aris needs to be through before then...

While I agree that Aris can't afford to think like that there is no way Bayern could win this comp with their 2nd team. They are not Arsenal or Chelsea. While this is a very tough the schedule has been kind to Aris, they can do this with the help of their passionate home crowd.
