  1. Alright I let this settle in a bit. I was massivly disapointed after the game but not about the result and final score but how we looked like strangers out there. The dropoff from Bakakis to Mavrias severely hindered ball movement. We hqve no debth especially at rb....prob the worst injury we could have taken in this game. Fortunis needs to play his natural position as hes still prob our best player. Im act glad both Zeca and Giokoumakis will be clear after they sit out vs Kosovo. Really both of Zeca's fouls in both games were needed. The spain yellow vs Giokoumakis was pretty much made up(ive watched it several times in slow mo) Today his yellow was horrible after only a few seconds on the pitch. We now need to sweep Kosovo, beat georgia and beat sweden once and prob draw the other. This was always going to be an uphill climb in this group and its very likely were only 1 pt behind sweden after matchday 4 (3 for us).
  2. Does anyone know if Tzmikas practiced today? I know he missed training a few days ago.
  3. @Bardouuu Honestly a lot of us can live with bad games if a player is giving max effort. The problem with Limnios is that hes sticking out like a sore thumb trying to play with flare/showing off. Hes the only one in the squad who isent trying to make direct passes and plays on the ball and he is always trying a flick or take on when he dosent have the skill to pull it off. He dosent fit with what their trying to do.
  4. A real shame this would have been a great result for us in terms of competing with 2 teams. Just goes to show we cant take what we did for granted. Georgia will be very tough based on todays game . At least one of there better subs got a red and they will be as tired as they can possibly be....it will be hard to break them down. 2-0 would be a perfect result and 2-1 or 1-0 would be acceptable.
  5. DEFENDING IS A SKILL The next time someone tells you we should play more attacking and that its not honorable to play for a draw against a power house like Spain show them this. Note: Georgia is the team getting thrown down the well in the last 90 seconds. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EYlbep4UwAA3evy.jpg
  6. Ive now watched this game again and have been celebrating since the result. A lot of us including me were critical of the XI but everyone played for the shirt today and gave max effort in playing their role. Tzavellas and Papadopoulos were the experience needed and Tsimikas played great. Bakakis also played well and you really cant fault him as that Morata run was just perfect. Lets hope we continue the great results. Bakasettas actually had some really important clearences in the box and I have to concede JVS knew what he was doing. Limnios got way too cute out there trying to show up Ramos but hes the only player i wasent thrilled with. All smiles for Greels today on an important day for us.
  7. Pelkas hurt now....dont think he was starting vs spain anyway but def a good sub and prob starter vs Georgia..
  8. Kind of looks like ramos might play 😪 havent heard anything since he sat the last game.....Spain havent replaced him or named any backup and i read a report saying he undereent an exam
  9. Haha deff not man. Im just saying even it out in terms of both teams missing guys....spains got backups for their backups who would prob start for us.
  10. That would be stellar...would love Bakakis over Mavrias....im like 65 percent sure hell go with mavrias though. Your backline is the best we have atm and how they should set up.
  11. I saw that....evens it out about since no Hatzadiakos or Giannoulias...they called up Bakakis just now to fill in which I originally predicted....i just know hes starting Mavrias at this point now which kind of sucks but whatever
  12. I dont know about that. I feel these two injuries are kind of absorbable...but like I said id feel more easy if manolas stepped up. For instance i dont think the dropoff is that bad between Giannoulis and say tzmikas or kyriakopoulos like i have in my original starting lineup. Yes Giannoulias was much more match ready than Tzimikas appearence wise as Tzimikas barely saw the field....but i still trust him .Right back was prob our bigger problem (still might be , thats the glaring hole i still see) JVS needs to at least consider Rota imo. Also just plug in Mavropanos and Kyriakos Papadoplous at CB instead of Hatzidiakos ....also not a crazy drop. If anything it probobly added clarity to the starting XI. Had we lost anything in the midfield like Zeca or Fortunis or even Gianakopolos i would be beside myself right now.
  13. Thats a real bummer and its a shame that manolas or sokratis wouldent offer to step up in light of both of him and Hatzadiakos being hurt.....but im past caring about them at this point and we have to move on. Otherwise it looked like we has a healthy sunday at least as a few of our guys like Fortunis & Vlachadimos rested on the bench for their clubs. I dident see under what circumstances tziolis and Bouchalakis were subbed early for....... zeca, Giakoumakis , Pavlidis , mantalos all played full games it looks like. On a side note I cant wait for Giokoumakis to leave Venlo....they are so bad. He'll prob play a big part in their relegation playoff because its looking like it may come to that if they continue on their path. I saw he was frustrated at the end and took a yellow....hes the one guy we absolutly need to have....especially for Georgia
  14. Hatzidiakos now out with the knee injury i talked about before callups were announced. Not really suprising.....haha does JVS talk to his players before announcing callups lol, even I knew he wouldent be fit a week ago...maybe they thaught he could play through it? Wonder who gets his spot.
  15. Also for anyone in the states it looms like both games are on ESPN plus....so you can get a $7 subscription for the month and just cancel if thats what you want to do. Well worth it for 2 games imo. Especially the spain game. Also in reponse to the Mavrias thing i still stand by wanting to see a bakakis /rota combo at rb ....but well see how everything goes. Again im happy with the squad selection and dont see glaring omissions
  16. The selections have been announced and all make sence to me. Id have swapped Tzevallas and Mavrias for Rota and maybe Bakakis like i indicated for speed. Mavrias and Tzevallas' inclusion was predictable in light of JVS' familiarity with them but hopefully they get no playing time. Was good to see Chatzadiakos included for Georgia, I guess they figure hell be healthy enough by that 2nd game. Good callout whoever pointed out his red because I totally forgot that they carried over between competitions. I agree with all the call ups only with the exception of Tzevallas and Mavrias and am excited for these games. If Mavrias plays a little thats ok as long as he dosent start but well see
  17. Looks like the most recent updates are that Kyriakopoulos Papadopolous and Kapino are returning to the squad for spain says JVS on Greek tv. Manolas and Sokratis declined call ups and wint play. Chatzadiakos suffered a knee injury for AZ in the dutch league 2 days ago so i guess we need Papadopoulos now. Giamkoumakis sat out Venlo's last 2 games with a nagging groin injury but hopefully he returns to action for them tomorrow and Venlo already said he got the obvious call up. Hopefully its quiet injury wise the next two weeks since losing chatzadiakos is not ideal
  18. Just read the updated report on Sokratis. Hes declining the call up because he feels he dident get enough playing time at arsenal and has been on to long a layoff. This is a fair enough reason for me. Especially if he dosent have the confidence against Spain in his current form, its the right thing to do. I get it if he feels hed be a liability. I see no reson why he couldent have played vs Georgia though..Oh well maybe he'll be available for future games the further along he gets with Olympiacos....kind of disapointed though
  19. A few quick things I respectfully disagaree with here @Jimmyp. While on average goals scored per match in the Erdevise is on the high side compared with other top European leagues.....Giakoumakis plays for Venlo. Goals are hard to come by for such a bad team. It cannot be overstated how monumental and important Giokoumakis' season has been thus far. He may single handedly be keeping VVV Velo from relegation (just barely). (Erdevise is on par with Serie a for goals scored in 19-20 and wed still regard a top scorer from there highly.) Also Ill take him being in the company of other top goalscorers over the years from Erdevise: Suarez Dost De jong/Tadic And depay. Vs the top goalscorers for the Super League. He has to be the starter
  20. Sorry not following which proposed lineup you dident like. Ill just say this about the second Slovenia game. We did break them down.No obviously we dident roll over them the way a spain or germany would but.....The Kourbelis miss in the 2nd half was well drawn up and completely there for the taking. In international football when somethings on the line, its always tight but JVS put us in a position to win that game if we take that chance imo. This team used to capitalize on the 1 or 2 chances it got but they dont capitalize of late. Also in that game Oblak came up huge twice and was world class as usual for them. He was a real stand out. The Bakesetas strike and Pavlidis near bike ( I never wanted to see a bike come off more than that lol) were also quality chances. At the end of the day the players have to finish. Im so tired of watching Fortunis hit wood work game in and game out....his production for the national team would be stellar if we had a dime for every time he hit a post haha. I deff think Fortunis starts...did everyone see that beautiful cross with limited playing time to win it for Olympiacos? Also did any one else catch Benfica's decision not to play Vlachodimos totally blow up in there face? I feel like he would have had something to say about that first Aubameyang goal.....that goalkeeper's timing coming out was so bad and he dident even try to make himself big. 2 of the goals were preventable....but there was no marking on that 3rd for benfica.
  21. Also read about the drama surrounding Vlachodimos. Apparently hes not in the starting 11 because the owner and coach are at odds over him? I dont like that especially because i think hes our best bet. Every time I watch Barkas i see him look so skittish and drop balls. Ill beleive rhe Manolas thing when I see it but obviously it would be much welcomed. I still dont think hell start but yea Tziolis at least has to be on the bench. I dident realize his form over all cometitions and was looking more at his super league stats. I absolutely cant wait for these games. Honestly spain looked average in nations league although they thumped Germany recently....really wanna see how this goes down
  22. @PaokCT i hope you guys are right and JVS has the guts to start Tziolis. Honestly I love him I just get a feeling he wont start a 19 year old vs spain. And yea Mitroglou had his time and its up now. I figured Manolas was dome in the same way that I knew holebas was done. I still like Sokratis temperament and dont see why they cant get this together for whats left of his career. He can give much needed stability.
