vlachodimos should be our starting keeper going to the euros but skibbe has proved he's brainless enough to overlook him. i hope it won't happen once again for these games. vlachodimos-karnezis-mparkas is a good trio. lykogiannis can take the LB spot with stafylidis injured. torosidis can be his back up. sokratis and manolas the cb duo with mpakakis being the starting rb. regarding the midfield samaris is out of favor in benfica and it would be unfair to start him. i think kourmpelis will start next to zeca who's a lock, since galanopoulos will be with the u21 team. bouchalakis might be the 4th option for these games as it seems really risky to play mantalos as an "8" because he doesn't put any effort on defense and we'd lose the midfield battle easily. lazaros has had a good start for olympiakos so he's a lock as well for the RW, with donis being the favorite to start in the LW. he seems to be out of favour under the new scum coach in stuttgart but he's quality. fortounis is on fire at the moment but pelkas is also playing quite well. personally i'd start fortounis and bring pelkas as a sub in the second half. mitroglou to start up front and karelis as a back up.

bouchalakis can't be a starter for god's sake, let's be real. don't take into account that skibbe has a fetish with tziolis and starts him. none of them should be starting material for us atm. that being said i wouldn't mind seeing him as a 4th option for these games behind zeca-samaris and kourmpelis, considering galanopoulos has will be with u21 and tachtsidis is a free agent. otherwise mantalos could play the "8" role as a deep laying play maker, having zeca holding the midfield but that would be a huge risk. stafylidis is slightly injured, he's coming back but i think he won't be ready to start. lykogiannis and mpakakis could be our 2 backs but i am pretty sure one of them will be tzavellas.

i can quote anybody here so some thoughts based on what you guys are saying. first of all samaris turned out the option to play in saudi arabia and he will keep playing in benfica. also vlachodimos needs to get called up. paschalakis is not more promising as he's 5-6 years older than him. gianniotis and mparkas are nothing special at the moment and karnezis is getting older. tsimikas, galanopoulos, limnios and the rest of u21 players might not be around this time even though all deserve a shot in the senior nt. so to sum up i'd like a starting squad like that for the next games in september. vlachodimos stafylidis sokratis manolas lykogiannis samaris zeca lazaros fortounis donis mitroglou

agreed, considering we have injuries but also Skibbe doesn't like Siovas so Hatzidiakos could be a nice replacement. but oh well, he'll go for Tzavellas. u-21 have an important away game vs czech republic so I think losing all of galanopoulos, limnios, mavropanos and hatzidiakos would be a huge blow. heck, they could even have donis and retsos there and they would be powerful. pelkas is more effective as a '10' while lazaros is a winger, why you bring pelkas in the discussion? pelkas should compete with fortounis and mantalos for the starting spot and not with lazaros and the rest of the wingers.

and who are you going to call up instead of lazaros? because only donis and limnios deserve a call up at the moment. neither fetfatzidis nor gianniotas does. and we're not going to try stafylidis, zeca or mantalos in the wings again.

No, Tzavellas is not a decent option neither as a CB nor as a LB. At CB position Sokratis, Manolas and Retsos (injured atm) are locks while Papadopoulos' team got relegated and himself is injured again. The 4th spot should basically go either to Siovas who's been starting in Spain with Leganes, or to Mavropanos but he won't be starting with Arsenal this season. Under these circumstances I'd call up Oikonomou who's a starter in AEK as a replacement for injured Retsos and Mavropanos because we should take care of our future backline. In LB; we do have PLENTY of BETTER options than Tzavellas. Tsimikas is already miles better than him offensively and when he gains some experience he'll manage to be a great modern full back, like Vrsaljko to say. We also have Lykogiannis who obviously does better than Tzavellas as well as Torosidis, Stafylidis and Mpakakis who can play in both LB and RB. In reality Tzavellas should even be an option, let alone atm that he's a free agent, but you never know with Skibbe as a coach. I bet he will get called up, so will Tziolis instead of Galanopoulos. I unfortunately can guarantee you that, despite Galanopoulos should be already a rotation player in this team.

galanopoulos has been starting for aek since last year and he's only 20. i don't know what you consider nt material but definitely he deserves to be there more than tziolis and tachtsidis who were in the latest call ups. personally i would start him over zeca because he's 10 years younger than him and already projected to have a better career. but most importantly we need to take care of the future and zeca i doubt will be really useful until the next world cup campaign. unless you want to start both zeca and galanopoulos/kourmpelis and bench samaris but this way you'll have little creation from the midfield and you'll be praying fortounis or pelkas to have a field day.

i don't consider Mpakasetas as a real option for the wings either. Donis, Limnios, Lazaros and let's say Gianniotas. That's enough. Where centrally you have Pelkas, Fortounis and Mantalos which is more than enough. And he can't play as a forward either where we have Mitroglou and Karelis. I don't see a place either for him or for Klonaridis atm. Perhaps only Gianniotas' position (4th in the wingers rotation is up for grabs.)

vlachodimos started today for benfica in their cl qualifier against fenerbahce. he was also starting in their preperation games. are we ever going to call him up? he's intention is to play for greece as he has already said, but skibbe doesn't bother to cap him. eventually he might play in a meaningless official game for germany so they will lock him for the rest of his career. if he manages to establish himself as a starter in that level he could be our starting gk going onto euro 2020.
