  1. Zeman plays a 4-3-3. He broke down some of his decisions and tactics to Italian press and revealed his middle 3 are composed of two box to box midfielders and a slightly deeper midfielder who delivers long diagonal balls to either wing, (deep lying playmaker). Zeman thought Tachtsidis was his ideal player to sit slightly deeper, he's big and strong enough to win the ball but is also an exceptional long pass and capable of making an offensive run into the area. When he left Verona and got the job at Roma, he requested they sign Tachtsidis.

Zeman thought Tachtsidis ticking more of those boxes than De Rossi and would often play him ahead of a fan favourite. It didn't help that the team weren't getting results either.

Here's a video of him playing the role under Zeman, showcasing the good and bad.

  2. Just read a promising, young dekari from Partizan's academy by the name of Nikola Ninkovic was coming to Thessaloniki to sign for us until he was convinced not to by former player and killjoy Zvonomir Vukic. Ninkovic stated a deal with PAOK was '95% complete'. He signed with Genoa instead at the beginning of the season.

  3. My opinion is a lot like Akritis' post above. Most of my friend's listen to hip hop or rap, I'm not into it but I'll give the it a listen if it's genuine, not about money or sex, but real issues and topics.

I came across an artist named J Dilla a product of 90's underground hip hop scene from Detroit and liked his alternative take on hip hop music. It's experimental, you can hear diverse influences from genre's like jazz, soul and funk, he sampled a lot of different stuff, I heard a Frank Zappa bit in one of his tracks which surprised me. Enjoyed listening to the albums Donuts (2006) and Ruff Draft (2003). If anyone is familiar with his work and knows of anything similar I'm interested, if you're not I suggest you check him out.

Here's a track he produced featuring a jazz sample by Roy Ayers

  4. While I'm a fan of many genre's of music, metal alongside rock (and most of their subgenres) is the music I listen to on a regular basis. I usually find it hard listening to black metal, although I've found myself liking a couple albums, I can't seem to get past the on purpose low quality production.

I've only really heard of the obvious names in the Greek metal scene, Septicflesh who I like, Firewind and Rotting Christ who I'm not into. Got any suggestions?

  6. We were lucky to get even that much out of them. They kicked up a fuss that we didn't accept 1.000.000? and drew negotiations out till they bumped up the offer a whole 500.000? which according to the media they still weren't happy with. How generous of them.

I hope he can keep this form up till the end of the season when he becomes available in the next transfer window. A previous post was pretty accurate in estimating how much a move to a club like Atletico would cost, IMO.

  7. Not sure if they'll pay 100% of his wages Pash.

I would be happy with Chatzisaias, we need CB's, he's at good age, has GSL experience. Our options are that thin back there, if he doesn't perform to a first XI standard than he'd still be handy as a backup. A good, necessary move I hope it goes through.
