Honestly, anything you get on Ellas TV you can get for free with a Kodi system. The only thing I can't find on Kodi is Nova....
How that works? So you telling us you can watch ote 24/7 through kodi? I doubt it

I agree with your comments about arena sports but only couple games are broadcasted. Last weekend they broadcasted the panathinaikos game live but not the olympiakos one.

Alpha Sat on Ellas Tv as well. So for $40 someone can watch the below channels compared to $40 plus someone spends to watch only 3 major greek networks with Dish. So $10 per channel on dish vs $1 plus couple quarters per channel on ellas tv.

You may want to use an Ethernet cable cat 5e or cat 6 when you connect the box to a rooter directly. The one that comes with the set top box is cat 5 and these types of Ethernet cables have less performance. Also you may want to buy a good mini HDMI cable instead of using the one included with the set top box.
Just by following the above I saw improvement to image quality especially on the HD channels and only after changing the image settings of the set top box to 1080i

Made some changes on the channel list and testing catch up as well. It works for some channels right now. You can use catch up by selecting EPG from remote and then select the catch up channels that range above 2000.

Are all those channels working. I know Alpha Sat, Sparti, some of those thessaloniki channels have been either coming soon or down since June. I haven't rebooted my box yet but will today to find out.
No yet. If you reboot you are going to see the new documentary channels plus better quality regarding ote cinema and sports channels. You may want to upgrade the firmware to the newest version so you can record shows by using a USB stick or external hard drive

Hi guys. I live in Melbourne-Australia and I've been with ELLAS TV for almost 8 months. I don't understand why they focus on adding more channels rather than focus on improving the major channels: Mega Cosmos, Mega, Star International, Star, Alpha, Skai. The picture quality of those channels is very disappointing. The new channels they added have a good pic quality and they also improved the quality of all the OTE channels. So can someone explain to me why they care more about these channels rather than care about the Major Greek channels? It doesn't make sense. The majority of Greek people is interested in the major Greek channels and this is why they go with their service. They good think is that the channels don't freeze like they used to before. I hope this won't change. My friend has TV PLUS (direct satellite tv provider) and the pic quality of all the channels is AMAZING. It is what we call digital image. It's better than the HD ones of Ellas TV's which by the way are not HD. They are only for those who live in Greece and they receive them over the satellite. Also the moves are much more natural than Ellas's which sometimes are really frustrating especially when I watch soccer. I think that the technology is not ready yet for this kind of broadcasting. In some countries maybe it is. But those countries have much faster internet and the broadcasters have built a very good infrastructure, unlike Ellas tv, to support their service. It will probably take 5 years before some of the broadcasters start to move from satellite to internet. Until then satellite is the best choice. I'll give them 2 more months to fix all the major channels, if they don't then i'll move to Tv plus.
By the way, Trikalinos1 what does the back up of the channels show? Do you have Alpha Sat in North America?

I have been an Ellas TV customer for the last 7 months and i do agree that during these months pic quality for some of the channels has gone down and for some others has gotten better. Mega Cosmos and Star International used to have way better picture quality but it seems that whatever changes they made to the transmitter or the encoder resulted to losing the pic quality these channels used to have.
All the new channels have great quality compared to the older ones. All the HD, the OTE channels, the new documentary channels and some of the local channels have great pic quality compared to the older ones like Ant1, Mega, Star,etc. Even Vouli and EDT have better quality than the major Greek channels. Like I mentioned before it may have to do with new encoders or transmitter or whatever they use to pass the pic from Greece to USA or Australia.
I think they are going to be making some additional changes to the nova channels similar to the changes they made for the OTE channels.
The back up channels show better pic quality from the non back up ones. For example the Ant1 back has better quality than the on back up Ant1.
Alpha Sat not here yet but they are planning on adding it soon.
Overall I am happy to have a platform that shows all the major greek channels including all sports channels that currently broadcast in Greece. The satellite providers here are expensive and for the cost of $40 per month you can only see 3-4 channels.

This is just fuken ridiculous, instead of adding new channels all the time why don't they concentrate on their existing service and get it working 100%
Everything is all over the place, how hard is it to put all their channels together? sports channels all together, movie channels all together etc. their channels one day they are working the next they don't, the following day their working with lip sync issues..... seriously wtf! Who gives a F*** if you have 200 channels if the service is s%$#! ti na to kano to gamidi????

By the way you can view the channels by category if you have the set top box. Select Mega Cosmos (channel 0) and press enter from your remote control. From there on the left hand side you are going to see a bar with all the channels. Move up where you see "All Channels" and from your remote control scroll to the right where you can view the different categories. Also you have the option to add them to your favorites list.
I agree with you that they should put all the channels together but at least and for the time being we have an alternative solution.

Unfortunately here they are very slow in getting the new channels compared to the US. We only got today Action 24 and music Tv.

Australia hasn't got the Ellas TV app yet. It's not available.
As for firmware upgrades. I've had it since February and we haven't any yet.

Yep. That's accurate because I have a second set box and pay extra $10. However i still had to pay $75 for the set top box. Per their promo one can get the set top box for $75.By the way they have added some new channels as well. OteSport 4, TV 100, vergina tv and Gnomi TV.According to their site, it looks like its now $10 extra for a second TV on the same account.

I don't know from where you get your information but when I called and spoke with one of the reps they said that the ipad requires a different account and it is not free.

I've had the Ellas TV box with the premium pack since Home2US disappeared. I have to agree with my patrioti, Trikalinos1, that the system has had significant improvements made to it, especially the last 2-3 months. The freeze ups are long gone, lip sync issues have gone away and content has increased dramatically. I made the investment in power line ethernet to feed the Ellas TV box, instead of wi-fi, and it is now solid on all channels. Picture quality is impressive and the sound is as good as the source material. As I've mentioned before, I'm not a soccer fan, but if you are, it seems to have every match. I love Greek music and there is a seemingly endless choice including VOD concerts.
As an experiment, we took the box and cables on our last trip, connected it to hotel ethernet and it worked fine. Does anyone know if the ipad or laptop version is working yet?
Bottom line, the wifey (whose opinion is the only one that matters!) loves it for the Greek soaps, music and news, so it stays.
IPad is working but you need to spend $14.99 to download the Ellas TV app. However and since you a current Ellas TV customer you will be able to use both your iphone and ipad with no monthly subscription cost.

I spoke with a friend of mine who has the ipad version. He told me that the quality is awesome. The only thing is that you have to buy the app $15 also you need to create a new account and password, therefore to pay again since you cannot use the account you may have with the top box. My friend is using the air tv to connect the ipad to his tv instead of using the box. I think programming is cheaper in ipad as well compared to box.
If your friend is a current Ellas set top box customer then the ipad or iPhone is FREE. Just need to pay for the app and once downloaded he would be able to watch the same channels he currently watches on the set top box for FREE.

I also heard that they are going to make avilable the recording feature by using the USB port very soon. Also i heard that EPG will be available soon as well.

I recently had the chance to test Ellas TV out briefly. I was actually impressed by the set up, seemed pretty smooth. I didn't notice any major issues; all the channels were working when I tried it. It seemed nice to have all those channel options, especially channels/programs that aren't carried by Dish. I think when it comes down to it though, the international versions of the channels pretty much include the more important programs anyway.
I agree with you. For someone who lives in Greece in order to get all the channels offered by Ellas TV would have to pay close to 53 euros ($69) for the sports pack offered by Nova plus another 20 euros ($26) for the family pack offered by OTE. Total $95 if you live in Greece and you want to get the channels currently offered by Ellas TV plus with Ellas TV you don't have to pay for features such as radio, apps, media player, free movies and recording.
I am totally satisfied with the product and once EPG and catch up are added then you have all the features expected by an IPTV provider.

Selecting the Media Player feature on the Ellas Tv menu you can view your photos, videos and listen to your music after connecting your USB or external drive on your Ellas TV box.
Also you can connect your android, iphone or ipad and view your photos or videos by downloading one of the DLNA free apps. For android and iphone/ipad users i would recommend iMediaShare which can play photos, Video and mudic from your android, iphone or ipad. I just saw that they have added three new channels from Cyprus; sigma TV, mega Cyprus and ant1 Cyprus. So for Cypriot brothers ellas TV carries 4 Cypriot channels; the above three plus RIK sat.
Also Epirus TV and Star Kentrikis Elladas started broadcasting as well.
Ote sport 1 and ote sport 2 are back and very surprised with the quality of image.
Also you need to update your firmware because the recording feature is on. However I haven't figured out yet how to record a program. Lol

TAF Sports holds international rights for OPAP Superleague games. Under an exclusive agreement TAF Sports has sublicensed the Superleague games to Antenna Group (Antenna Satellite / Antenna Pacific) and Sport Plus. Antenna controls the home games of 9 Superleague teams, while Sport Plus to the remaining 9 teams.
This deal does not include the European market. The most likely explanation for this is that Forthnet (NOVA) requested this clause in order to take advantage of the ?gray market? subscriptions to their NOVA platform.
