Like you said, he will not last all three years, so his age doesn't really bother me. I think 700K is for all 3 yrs. otherwise it's far worse than I originally thought. His troubled past is a major concern but they know who they signed. As for the owner, I'm not sure what to think other than to assume he is no different from previous ones. I am surprised they allowed him to take over Aris given what is currently going on with Veroia.

I don't want to speak for BlackHawk but I'm pretty sure his comment has nothing to do with the team that Aris is putting together but rather the amounts spent by a team which only a few weeks ago had previous debts eliminated.
No doubt both are a luxury for the Football league but I do question how a hothead like Djebbour will handle a lower level playing field, in other words how many games will he miss for retaliation offenses.

Reaper, I honestly do not know what he has done at Veroia, I had never heard of him before his involvement with Aris. Furthermore, I have no expectations for the team I have supported all my life because there is too much BS floating around and no concrete info on anything really. The one sure thing I know about Aris, always on the wrong side of the ledger in red.

One step at a time gentlemen, right now the only concern is being allowed to move up next year.
Sheriff, nothing in Aris recent past suggests that things will be different this time around so I would not be surprised if they drop to the second division in 3-5 yrs., like you said, assuming of course they reach the superleague.

Nobody clean will get involved with Greek sports, it falls on the government to stay on top of things. If you owe money to the IRS they can take it from your wages before you get paid, I say do something similar to all teams that owe. Insert your people in these PAE, create more jobs as well, this way you have a better idea what's coming in.

Ultimately it comes down to one thing, does the Greek government have a better chance of collecting any money from Aris with the team in the 3rd division or in the professional ranks? I think the answer is obvious.

Hello ukworm, hope all is well with you. So from what I understand Aris might not be allowed to move up unless they take care of previous debt. I'm all for the them paying off what they owe or a portion of it but wouldn't it be more beneficial if they work out a payment plan of some sort? Neither side benefits from Aris remaining in the 3rd division unless I'm missing something.

I'm not able to paste a link but there is an interview with Niko Kyzeridi on the metrosport site which is worth reading. I often wonder if karma is getting the best of Aris with all the players that have been screwed by the team in the past!!

No Chris I did not. My point about teams bitching about the officiating is, for them, it becomes the reason they lost. I have no reason to believe that a penalty should have been called on Sunday, but that's not the reason P.A.O.K. lost.

November of which year? :LOL: :LOL:Here is the latest status on the re-furbishment of Toumba. As everyone knows all this work was supposed to be completed in July 2004 before the Olympic Games.
The new bulding is finished, with some interior work still needed to be cmpleted. The major part that still needs to be done is the roof over gates 1,2 & 3. When I went to see Toumba back in August, they had the iron supports in place for the roof, but nothing was being done as to the rest of the roof. It is now reported that work on assembling the roof has begun and it is expected to be finished sometimes in November.
