FC Kaiserslautern have parted company with coach Kurt Jara by mutual consent. Immediate effect The 54-year Austrian had already announced his decision not to extend his contract beyond this season at the beginning of the week. However, after further talks with chairman René C Jäggi, they have agreed to end his contract with immediate effect. 'Best option' "Allowing Kurt Jara to leave now seemed the best option for everyone," said Jäggi. "Different factors cropped up that did not allow me to carry out my job the way I wanted to in the future," Jara added. Moser in Jara joined the club in February 2004 from Hamburger SV, and helped them go nine games unbeaten between November 2004 and February this year.
