Harry
SACRAMENTO, United States : Maurice Greene and Marion Jones are among nine former Olympic champions on the preliminary roster of athletes for the Athens Games submitted to the US Olympic Committee by USA Track and Field. The lineup, announced early Monday morning following the Olympic Trials that ended here Sunday, includes some spots that are yet to be determined because athletes have until August 9 to meet Olympic qualifying standards. Jones won five medals at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, including 100m and 200m gold. She qualified in the long jump but is likely to run only relays. Greene will defend his 100m Olympic crown at Athens while newcomers Shawn Crawford and Justin Gatlin attempt an Athens sprint double at 100m and 200m.
