I'm f-ing gutted.
It looked like every single player on the Ethniki was being forced to play and their minds were on Mykonos. Everyone, except Zeca. At least he played with hustle.
I'm not ignorant enough to have thought we would win but damn man, show some f-ing pride for your flag. A hard fought tie or even a hard fought 1-0 or 2-1 loss would at least show that the players care. I'm sick of this sh$t.

VERY disappointed with the small crowd. Only 18,000 there....sad

Thanks mate. Good to know!

Sorry if this is ignorant but is Donis injured? Why is he not called up?

Biggest surprises for me:
Siovas and Samaris. Was very amazed with their excellent play today.
Zeca is all heart. Not even Greek and hustling like his life depended on it!
Like others said, we didn't play perfect and my God, those first 20 minutes were like deer in headlights BUT (and this is huge) I loved how the team did not stop running, fighting, chasing balls and the opposition. They hustled like the teams we grew to love before the collapse of the past 3-4 years. This is important and hopefully they carry today's momentum into the next games later this summer.
PAME ELLAS!

Socrates- out vs Liechtenstein and 50/50 vs Bosnia
Manolas -Out for both games
Thanks for the update bro.
Manolas out against Bosnia is a huge blow.
Hopefully the rest of the team steps up their game the way they usually have against tougher opponents in the past (Bosnia and Belgium last time).

So...any updates?
Is Socrates missing the first game?
Is Manolas out against Bosnia?

What’s concerning is the coaches remarks after the game.. he said “I like what I saw from the players today and we were unlucky” he also said “we are not a great team yet but we aren’t that bad” ?♂️
When you lose to a country like Estonia, yes, YOU ARE BAD.
I am so tired of the defeatist attitude of the Greek National Team. Only in Greece is the phenomenon present. It's pathetic! How is it that tiny nations like Croatia, Belgium, and even Serbia produce players that can score? Just for once I would like to see Hellas drive up the field and finish a play with a goal. Just once so I can jizz my f-ing pants. I seriously don't get it. I've seen the goals many of the team's players have scored when playing for their clubs even when matched up against much tougher competition than Estonia, yet it all disappears when they play for country. Today there were so many weak finishes, scoffed shots, balls barely rolling to the net....I wanted to pull the little remaining hair on my damn head right out! This team has burned me emotionally and physically. Like many have said, the team needs to be blown up with exception to 2-3 core players. Sadly, though, this won't happen.....

Forgive my ignorance but the premise of the two results (in points) being deducted is because of the fact that Group I has 5 teams while the rest of the groups have 6.
Upon checking, Group I has 6 teams.
I really think it's as simple as the best 8 second-placed teams going through. We know what Greece needs to do for this to happen as well as hope for some favourable results elsewhere....

Also there is a massive Turk Flag displayed at 2:35, I don't get the admiration for an Empire that literally conquered them and changed their culture and heritage forever LOLThis is something I will never understand either! You have European Slavic people who were FORCIBLY converted to Islam by the Ottoman Turks and today they praise and worship them as if they were their founding saviors! Are you kidding me?
Get one thing straight my Bosnian friends. You bent over and gave in. You sold yourselves out and allowed your rulers to change you. We didn't. As such, we win. Forever. Period.

For those in Canada, the game will be shown live on Sportsnet 360.

Not quite sure where to post this, but either way. Im very happy to see that there is an opportunity that the national team will stop playing ALL our games at Karaiskaki. I'm tired of seeing one of the top european national teams constantly play in front of friends and family only,. 8 000 people attended the game versus Cyprus. Our first game of the qualifiers, a game against our brothers, it should have been a football fest in a full stadium.
Ideally Karaiskaki will only get games against the top sides like Belgium (perhaps also Bosnia), for the other games AEL FC Arena should be our main stadium, with some games also being played at Pampeloponnisiako, Pankritio and perhaps Kleanthis Vikelidis. The national team is for the whole country, not just Pireaus or Athens.
To be fair....It was raining like crazy the day they played Cyprus. Not weak rain, but torrential style rain with strong winds...

I'm loving Greece's hustle.

I hate asking this, but does anyone have any reliable links?

I don't see this as a problem. It actually shows that the coach has balls to bench a quality player to send him the message that this is a team game and whining wont be tolerated. This is seen in the NHL, NBA, and even the NFL. Top players have been benched if they cross the coach for a period, a half, or an entire game so the message is sent.
I like Cholebas but, in all honesty, he does seem to be one of those whiny bitches who pouts and cries if he doesn't get his way. Team first. Period.
Good for Skibbe.

Ethniki youtube channel showing it
When you visit EPO's link for the game (which takes you to their youtube page), it does not allow for it to be viewed in Canada, and in the United States too, I believe.
