    Exactly I have no team issues here but I expect my best players to be the best in key games.

    Look at Spain and Gasoline he rose to the occasion. Basketball is the one sport that can be dominated by the great player and it demands it best players to be their best.

    I think a little refresh is in order as per Reaper. The team needs to focus its offense through Yiannis and Koufos at this point in my opinion.

    And as a team they all really need to work on their foul shooting. Although they did not get to the line much they left too. Many points there that cost them the game. I see this way too much with Greek national teams in bball

     

     

    I dont think Koufos post game is polished enough to be a reliable option on offence. Cleaning up around the rim and getting the dirty points he can do but making him play with his back to the basket is not his greatest strength. Also its never a given that he will show up and play for us. Our half court offence has been abysmal vs Zone and we still havent fixed this.

    I don't know what the coach was thinking. He shortened the bench too much. Sloukas need more time. Way too much faith in Calathes who made 2 bonehead plays at the start of the 4th Q. Boroussis did nothing today, and Gasol killed him. What else can I bitch about? While Papanikolaou was having a bad tourney I think his defence could of been used vs Mirotic. We also killed them on the Offensive glass but ended up with I beleve 2 second chance points.

    We will go 4 for 4 and finish 3rd, Greece loves going back door ;).  I get it we lost to the Faroe Islands but anything is possible. Had we gotten all 6 points vs the Fisherman we are 3 pts back and at least have a realistic shot at the playoffs. Anyways the players know we are all but done, maybe they play loose and pull it off. We have seen us pull off some s%$#! many times when we are down in the dumps.

    I thought i show this to everyone:

     

     

    I am glad he had the balls to face the media even though or media is pretty soft on our players. I like what he said and I think he is implying something when he talks about the players having to love the national team again and respect one another. I think there could be some bad seeds who could care less about being there and feel they are better then the others. I don't know how this all started because they seemed to be a very tight knit group at the world cup and played for the guy next to them. Perhaps it was the appointing of Ranieri and the culture change he may have tried to impose.

    Well chances are we are as good as done but Romania and NI do have Hungary right behind them so I don't see them rolling over for them. 3 ties also will do but we do not run the table no way. The funny thing is had we just beaten the Faroe Islands 2x as we should have we'd be 3 points behind 3rd only go figure lol

    Holebas - Is a huge upgrade over Stafylidis going forward so I can see him having an effect on our play being worse


    Maniatis - I never rated him and think his role can be filled


    Karagounis - While his play declined over the years he was the heart and soul of the team so his absence can be understandable


    Salpigidis- Was never more then an extra RB and figured a more attacking player would be an upgrade @RW


    Samaras - As lazy as he looked at times did well at holding the ball up and was able to awkwardly dribble past defenders at times 


     


    I want to see Holebas back going forward. We need a player who will do the dirty work like Maniatis but offers more going forward. Papadopoulos perhaps can fill this role if he can stay healthy. I think it will also make Samaris a better player as well. You can never replace the influence Karagounis had on this team but an inform Fortounis getting time week in and week for Olympiakos and games in Europe can offer the same in the CAM role. Same goes for Ninis. I know we can find a more offensive minded RW to replace Salpi. It is going to take the right coach though at the end of the day to put it all together and player to our strengths.
