To be honest all of them are better then the garbage we've been seeing the last 10 years or so

Middle to the left is a beauty.

Yeah a lot of people seem to forget that we have a legend managing us along this promising period. A aek legend, a national team legend, a footballing legend, a greek legend!
His passion is just as much there if not more than the players and I would put my left nut on the line that we wouldnt be as this good off had we an xeno manager or somebody who doesnt know what it means to be AEK!
-
No way Ayew would come to Greece. He will have offers from all over Europe including Liverpool & Spurs and a host of Champions League participating teams.
Would be a beast move. But unlikely.

It has been finalized, the play-offs start Sunday April 26 (this Sunday), the draw to see who plays who and when is tomorrow.

Anyone in Australia been hearing much of him?
-
Yeah I was skeptical about Diop just threw his name in to show the along the line of players I was talking about.
God, reading some of those names gives me goosebumps...in a bad way, lets not forget the honorable Manu

I really am scared of the fact of returning to the days where we buy has beens just for their name, Gudjohnssen, Bouba Diop, Juanfran?? How did we in any way expect players such as these to improve our team?
Id much rather out system now of scoutting Greek players and the odd foreign player. We are a Greek football club thus should have a majority of Greeks in the squad i.e pre Euro2004, and not players who come to Greece for a last paycheck and to chill on fhe beach.

I'd much prefer the 4-4-2, the 4-3-3 is a little to defensive IMO or should I say lacking in creativity up the field. We need that number 10 behind the striker.
But yeah it is a little too early to be guessing formations I guess.

........................................GK
Bakakis.....Tzanetopoulos.....Kolovetsios.....LB
....................Anakoglou......Johansson/Cordero
RW...........................Mantalos..............Barbosa
..........................Aravidis/Chrisantus
Also have Simoes in the mix for CM, Dellas has a tough decision to make as to who is a starter in that position. Johansson is a definite but then again you cant have to defensively minded players like Johansson and Cordero in the midfield, well you can but I don't think its the best of ideas. Maybe Anakoglou will be at CAMF while Mantalos is out, with Johansson/Cordero/Simoes battling it out in CM. Then when Mantalos returns we will have 4 players battling it out for the 2 CM roles.
Either way, its better to have this problem than to not.
Definitely need a top class GK, LB, RW.

Anywhere he goes he will be a beast. Really would love to see him in the EPL.
He would really improve the Greek name abroad. Especially in England. Nobody has really done so since Stelios Giannakopoulos.
-
At 6'4 and with his strength you would think he would be better than he is.
Sure getting game time is good and all but its the Danish league.
At 23 and still relatively young he should be looking at one of the top 4-5 leagues. He's not going to develop in any way playing in Denmark.
-
I started the thread because on the AEK site in the fixtures section it had AEK-Iraklis April 22nd :/
-
Another name popping up is Orlando Sa from Legia Warsaw.
He has had spells at AEL Limassol, Fulham, Porto and Braga.
27 years old in May. Striker
-
Koutroubis wouldnt get it to the current AEK team.
Tzanetopoulos, Kolovetsios, and Lambropoulos are all better than him.
He can see for himself next season
-
Nah it wouldn't make any sense to play once a week. But this is Greece so they most likely will be.
Anyway I cant edit my original game topic post as once it exceeds 1 hour you cant edit your post so if a mod would like to change the date to 26/4/15.
-
Who does he play for?
-
GK, LB, RW (Starters)
CB, FW (backbups)
That is what is needed.
We have 3 quality CBs so I dont think CB is an absolute must.
I don't rate Petravakis or Soiledis, especially against good opposition.
Platellas is good but we need a better more consistent player there. This IMO is where we need a BAM.
Chrisantus still has a lot to show IMO. We haven't seen enough of him (at 100% freshness) to gather an honest opinion based on his abilities, lets give him a proper chance before we grade him.
Anestis could have been a beast considering his height but he has butter fingers. We need a more soild guy back there.

Not only do i not want to overspend i don't want 2 brazilians.
I get that there are not that many talented Greek footballers but one thing that has made me love the current team even over our good days in 07 is that the majority are Greek.
Dont get me wrong we are obviously going to have to dip into the foreign market to get some creative players but i just hope its not the vintage old Greek club case were 90% of the team is foreign aka Olympiakos.

A very important player for us. Cant wait to see him boss it in the SL
AEK's New Jersey

Yeah it really wasn't the worst of jerseys and slight return of the stripes was a welcome surprise but yeah nothing special and this is definitely 100 times better.
Our alternate jersey's will be
REALLY really like the first one. Can't wait to get my hands on it. The perfect amount of yellow and black equally divided. And I agree with CHE the JEEP sponsor is great, simple and basic just as they should be not drawing too much attention away from the rest of the kit.
