I personally cant see any of the Sydney teams of the NSL days being able to play in the A League now. They may think they can but reality is they just don't have the backing and finances for it.

Iv said it for years if any NSL team was able to get an A League licence South Melb or Melb Knights should be the teams to get it as they both have very good set ups.

dont worry about Knights...they have no aspirations...and they are situated amongst quarries..

yep...they own the facility which is worth millions..but thats only if you want to sub divide and create houses..otherwise it has no real benefit in any potential ALeague bid..

I registered just to say this.

I could insult you to very worst and you and your fans are well  worth it but instead imma just say that you should be ashamed of your fans and players. Let's just say that we haven't been all goody2shoes with you but we've never burned your flag, we've never endorsed genocide or political issues through our fans and we've never gave such hostility towards you. Similar can be said for the game. You don't deserve a point, flat out. Angry or not, biased or not -- this is just the truth. What you've shown last night is complete antifootball and show (along with the swed) how corrupted and biased refs are in modern one. But other than that, a friendly advice - Don't come to Zenica. People here furious over everything that took place last night and rarely do these people forget and brush aside. Expect hell next year and another 3-1, because you deserve every bit of both. Hopefully you will not see POs with this kind of play. I've lost every bit of respect towards hellas' footy, shame.

Bosnia are a good football team....and play good football..

I care little for the Serb brotherhood...rubbish..

However your coaches names is Mehmet you need to understand that Greeks see this is the eternal enemy..no sugar coating..you say people in Zenica won't forget what happened in a football game...but the people of Hellas will never forget Mehmet..

  3. welcome to the forum..I figured you are Bosnian.  Glad to hear you enjoyed your time v Atromitos...Also glad to hear that you say Bosnians do not think badly of Greeks..perhaps times are changing..which is good..

I am not sure how the reaction was the last time Greece played in Bosnia..(2013)

However in the 2007 match and the build up was very tense....and very 'political'

  4. That's right he is a Bosnian Serb..and he has every right to support Bosnia..nothing treacherous about that..

also true the Bosnians are strong Turk lovers...(this will always be frowned on by Greeks)_and regardless if we do not want to mix sport/politics/history.

There have been very strong anti Greek reactions when Greece has played in Bosnia in the past...all with a political and historical motive...(lest we forget)...

To put it mildly Bosnians would not be high up on my Christmas card list..

  6. I recall pre season when I questioned the signings of Djalma and co. I was told to go jump..

PAOK made good money from Lucas transfer to Arsenal and the sale of Mak...and did not buy wisely, or spend any serious money..

The squad looks extremely poor to me....

no goals v  Qarabag over two legs....the team lacks true leaders and quality..

You might be right, but Vellios is a much better (and younger) player than both Giannou and Papazoglou.

He's a handy backup but I can't see him ever being the top striker for the Ethniki.

vellios turns 25 in January, Giannou 27 in January and Papazoglou 29 in March..

In a football sense they are all in their prime..

Vellios at 25 will be around a few years more than the other two... at 25 he does not have enough improvement in him to pencil him in as a starter fir the NT post Mitro..

Why would you think that? He got signed by Everton at a young age. Lost his form did well in Denmark, went back to Greece and killed it being one of the top scorers in the league with a very average to bad Iraklis team. Then went back to England in the second division for Nottingham Forest and has been scoring belters. I'd say he can go another level and do more. Vellios is not garbage. I think you over exagerated.

the everton move was a life time ago in football sense..

he did not do much in Denmark..and he was in a poor team in a poor league..

yes..he scored for Iraklis..but was nit good at times...  I have not been over impressed with his form at Nottingham Forrest..

We need better strikers if we are to progress.. in world football to the level we dream of...

I say forget about Vellios..I put him in the same category as Giannou and Papazoglou..

  9. the point is we only have one proper striker..Mitro  who goes missing at times...

Vellios is a poor man's Mitro..who is slower, poor finisher and limited.

I do not rate Karelis either..but he is our best second option...because he is more mobile than Vellios and can pinch hit in other positions to compliment Mitro if needed...

In the ideal world we would have two killer wide players like Leto,Mirallas,Galletti, Djole....etc...feeding Mitro...and behind him Fortounis...

    .....................................karnezis................................

    toro.........................sokratis..........manolas............(should be lloyd)

    .........................................taxi..........samaris.............

    .................................................fortounis....................

    mirallas/galletti.................................................................leto/djole

    ...........................................mitro...................................

    THIS IS OUR PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is Diamantakos injured still? I say give him a chance at LW. It's only fair because Gianniotas and Bakasetas have been given chances. We've got too many strikers in Mitroglou, Karelis and Vellios. I also know Diamantakos would do well at LW.

Diamantakos is a striker or nothing.... not LW..

    Vellios is garbage..

@RED SHERIFF What happened to Andonis Georgiadis - Ive heard him speak and he seems quite intelligent and charismatic to a certain degree..far more than other Greek politicians who inspire nothing . Do you or anyone know much about him ?? I thought he was on track to lead ND - did Kyriakos come from nowhere??

I think Georgiadis was not polished enough...

I think Kyriakos sounds well rounded, well educated....

We need to not let our bias of the family name turn us off..

    Greece needs jobs, and vision...

If Kyriakos can deliver then that is good..

the structural reforms Greece needs can only be implemented with some like Kyriakos...well connected, well educated etc..

Greeks are living in dream land if they think the answer lies in some mythical new wave of politics that will  sweep the world and see capitalism fall .

They are a bizarre bunch who to me are looking for answers/solutions in places they don't exist..

    1) reform education...make teachers more accountable

    2)reform public service

    3) make public servants accountable - give senior managers KPIs

    4) cut red tape for business

    5) smash closed professions

    6) limit Union power to strike

    7) allow foreign investment

    8) fast track the legal system

    9) restore proper law and order.
