By the way HellasHab I never left Home2US. In fact I have been really happy with their receiver, so far no problem as far as picture and sound quality.

In fact the Home2US MEGA Cosmos signal has been better than from what it was in Directv and Dish Network.

As far as Mega Cosmos we will still try and tweak it more but were sending whatever the broadcaster outputs

The setting is at 1080i with no success. I tried all the different settings.

I wish it never does. I was watching the U19 final Spain - Greece the other day from ET1. It was like watching something in movie mode not video mode. Even the channels where the picture is ok, MEGA, MEGA DELAYED etc when there is scrolling involved it's not smooth and credits for example at the end of the show are not easy to read.

Do you want me to go on: Here is one. Why do I need to adjust the volume every time I change a channel? Shouldn't that be a function of the receiver keeping the same volume level on all the channels?

And where are you getting the MEGA COSMOS Australia feed from that I am able to see here in America, not from Home2US of course, which means that you probably send it to Greece from Australia the same way you send the MEGA COSMOS N. America to Greece and back here.

And how do you get the signal? Home2US is trasmitting a special one just for ELLASTV in N. America?

whatever they are doing, most likely what you say, is not working. Both MEGA COSMOS feeds do have a lip sync problem. Now BBC One HD is way off with a lip sync problem too.

And by the way ERT World all of a sudden showed up out of nowhere.

OK here is the latest observations on MEGA COSMOS N. America and MEGA COSMOS Australia on EllasTV:

It seems that the Lip Sync problem is almost gone from MEGA COSMOS N. America but exists on MEGA COSMOS Australia. However, in MEGA COSMOS N. America the picture freezes for 5,6 seconds as often as every 30 seconds. This is not happening on MEGA COSMOS Australia which proves the fact in my opinion that is has nothing to do with the internet connection.

One last thing and I will shut my mouth for the rest of this month. If you really want to give us something that's really worth something, gives a DVR capable receiver with dual tuner and forget about the delayed channels and being able to go back 14 hours on certain channels.

People might want to record something and save it for later viewing.

And by the way, how long would it take for all the vod shows to be available? So far I can only watch τα ΚΛΕΜΕΝΑ ΟΝΕΙΡΑ, Disney movies 5-6 of then and some Greek Movies from the 80's worth no more than a nickel each.

I have MEGA COSMOS with Home2US since it moved there. I have used 4 different receivers, TV Plus, the next one I can't remember its name then the Home2US one plus another one (Openbox S10) that I bought myself. I never had a problem with any of them as far as the LIP Sync problem I am experiencing with the Hellas TV one.

I beleive if I had a problem with the internet connection that would affect all channels not only MEGA COSMOS.

Now I see that both MEGA COSMOS N. America and MEGA COSMOS Australia are broadcasted. Again both they have the same problem.

If others don't have the same problem then it might be the receiver but according to their website there are no returns so I am stuck.

The box is fast maybe SOME customers do not have the proper internet connection to view the content ....

Apparently I am not the only one.

I have a 35 mbit connection with the only other device running in the house is a laptop. I never claimed that I had a problem with the connection or that the picture of the channels have any problem or that the picture freezes.

I just said that some of the channels (MEGA COSMOS, STAR INTERNATIONAL, MEGA CYPRUS, RIK SAT and a couple of others have a video - sound sync problem.

Either fix the problem or don't offer the channels in the package.

Also there are more features that are being tested on the new box...

Which is catchup tv... You will be able to go back 14 days on various channels from Greece.

As far as EPG is concerned if customers arent happy we will change it to the liking of the customer.

Instead of developing/testing new features why don't you spent time fixing the existing ones first.

The EPG does need some work. A simple channel/time grid will be perfect.

Dont be surprised when going into a Germanos in Greece or a kotsovoulos, and its mandatory to get Ellas TV built in your TV. Hint Hint

Look at NOVA perfect example $75 a subscription in Greece, government got involved and told NOVA, you need to step up with the future.... and guess what Nova Eppegia comes out for as low as $9.99 (that is IPTV for NOVA by the way)

If Nova Eppegia( IPTV for Nova) costs $9.99 why does ELLAS TV cost $49.99?

I have been with Dish Network since 2001. I never had a problem with them and surely if MEGA had not made the worst mistake by leaving them we wouldn't be having this conversation to begin with and everyone would be happy.

And speaking of Dish Network for $24.99 you get all the channels you need, except MEGA of course but still with DVR capabilities and so on. So where is the "shark" part coming into this?

A Dish Techician could be in my house the next day, free of charge, and fix any technical problem I might have. Would you ever have a technician come out for support? When I called and mentioned the MEGA COSMOS issue, the answer I got was "Hm that's strange, I am watching it here and it works fine".

I am a software engineer and this is like saying to a Quality Assurance person that failed one of your items, "Oh it works on my computer". That's actually a inside developer's joke!

I can leave with the Receiver / Remote issues but the video/sound sync problem would have to be fixed. And please display the channel number currently selected on the receiver, or have a display button that shows some information on the screen at least!

You guys can debate all you want whether the service is legit or if IPTV is the future of Greek TV.

All I care at the moment is the service itself since I decided to try it out for a month and see what happens. I have the option to return the box after a month and get the $50.00 I have paid for the receiver. Of course there is no refund for the shipping and handling or for the $50.00 for the family package that I am currently subscribing.

The picture quality on the direct channels is very good and the sound in sync with the video. Unfortunately MEGA COSMOS the one I really care about the video and sound is not in sync and other channels, RIK SAT, MEGA Cyprus and a couple of others seem to have the same problem.

As far as the Delayed version of the channels they would be a nice feature as long as they kept the 8 hour delay they claim to have. Today Sunday MEGA delayed was playing its Saturday program. ALPHA seemed to be ok but you never know what tomorrow brings.

As far as the receiver, I am sorry to say but it is the worst ever receiver I have ever had to use of any device. Where do I start? You press a button for any function and you literally have to wait at least 5 seconds before you see the change by which time you have forgotten what you pressed. Pressing the Enter button while watching a channel brings up the list of the channels so you can navigate to the one you want. No matter what channel you are watching if always brings the list from the beginning. The Page Up and Page Down buttons do not work. Most of time when the list comes up the up and down buttons do not work due to the fact that no item from the list was selected so you can navigate.

Some of the Channels do have program guide, MEGA ANT1 ALPHA SKAI etc. but to get there you have to press the EPG button on the remote. Once you do that the channel disappears and then the delayed UI takes over and it’s a pain to get back to the channel you were watching. You can only view the guide only one channel at a time, there is no GRID type TV Guide with all the channels listed for easy navigation.

Really disappointed with the whole thing.

I will be swiching to family pack shortly and I promise I will list all the channels.

At the moment I have the MEGA pack which is 19.99 plus 9.99 for the leasing option. I get:

1. MEGA Cosmos - the sound and picture are not in sunc at the moment. Picture quality is slightly worst than the Home2US satellite feed. Having both at the moment I can tell you that the EllasTV Mega Cosmos is at least 20 seconds delay from the Home2US

2. MEGA Channel. Straight from Greece in real time. Picture and sound quality is really good.

3. MEGA Channel Delay. Same as MEGA Channel although you see the programs with a 15 hour delay not 8 hour.

4. MEGA Cyprus. Same problems as MEGA Cosmos. Picture and sound quality worst than MEGA Cosmos.

5. Radio KIMA. A music channel that is just music.

I don't know how those guys calculate time delay but they have really screwed up here. The idea I would think, in an 8 hour delay, it is to watch NOW something that was literally broadcasted live in Greece 8 hours ago. For example at 10:00 pm eastern today Thursday you should watch the 2:00pm eastern show = 9:00pm Greek time right? Wrong! Instead at 10:00 pm eastern I am watching the 2:00 pm Greek Afternoon News.

In essense the actual time delay is 15 hours. But they figure 2:00 pm Greek time + 8 hours = 10 pm eastern.

This is like insisting that a Delta flight from Athens to New York City leaving Athens 1:00 pm local time and arriving in New York at 5:00 pm also local time takes only 4 hours!!!

Finally I gave up and order the EllasTV box. It should be comming any day now. I am getting rid of the Greek Elite Pack on Dish and The MEGA from Home2US. For the same money I can get the family pack and no 2nd dish on my yard.

They said they have the Greek channels at their regular time as well as with an 8 hour delay.

The leasing option is 9.99 a month for 24 months but there is also a 50.00 fee up front, making the total amount 289.76. Hopefully the Roku option will be available soon.

I am sick and tired with Home2US receivers. My TV Plus one which I thought it was the best of all does not work anymore. And of course Home2Us is saying that they only support theirs.

Correct me if I am wrong ttentelh but Ant1 does not transmit in HD yet where as DirecTV does for quite sometime now. The final was on DirecTV for free mind you. By free I mean you don't have to pay extra for the UEFA games broadcasted by DirecTV all season long.
