  1. I keep hearing different numbers from various sources. Some say there are 7 national channels, some say 8. I thought there were 8 personally: Mega Ant1 Alpha Skai Star E (Epsilon) ART M (Makedonia) Is anyone able to confirm if it's 7 or 8?
  2. Haha, I was annoyed also at that Mega Cosmos page that listed the wrong North American distributors. Glad you made them fix it. I don't understand why they don't bother to update it themselves. It's to their own benefit if they do so because that way if the proper contact is listed, at least it increases their chances of getting new customers. I dunno I've had decent experiences in the past with local American network affiliates closest to Montreal. I used to email them quite often in the past with comments and questions, and they would reply back in a timely and helpful fashion. I'm glad you're not giving up though on these Greek networks. I'd say you're probably right, these 2 new channels from ECG are likely Category B exempt services.
  3. There's lot of things that don't add up...Skai TV on Bell FIbe has a similar schedule as NGTV, but obviously not the exact same one, since it airs different shows when local NYC shows air on NGTV. Despite that, someone here mentionned that it is filled with commercials advertising local New York businesses. So it looks like it's a Canadian bastardized version of NGTV, but without Canadian content or commercials. And if this is indeed true, there is still no info in the CRTC website regarding this channel. All of these Greek channels operations are in shambles. Most of the time, even if you email them with questions regarding these issues or programming schedules, they just ignore your email and don't respond.
  4. While looking at the NGTV schedule, I noticed that there is a local New York show called NGTV news at 6:30pm on weekdays. Not sure how many more local NYC/non SKAI shows they have on their schedule. I lose track of who here on these forums is subscribed to Skai TV on Bell Fibe TV but If someone can check to see what is being shown at 6:30pm on weekdays, then we'll have a better idea if Bell Fibe TV is using the NGTV feed. http://www.newgreektv.com/index.php/tv-guide
  5. News release regarding Skai TV on Bell Fibe, http://www.newswire.ca/en/story/1312845/ethnic-channels-group-launches-a-new-greek-channel-skai-tv-on-bell-fibe Who exactly is Simos Hajiraptis, GM of Comart? Couldn't find any new info on Mad World. Here is some more info on him and his company: http://ahepahellas.org/directory/listings/simos-hajiraptis/ http://www.comart.gr/
  6. MCIBUS, I am in Montreal actually. I think HellasHab might be right, Bell Fibe TV will probably just have them all each as 5$ add-ons instead of making one big package. We'll see what happens this Thursday. Hopefully Bell starts adding whatever gets approved.
  7. Is there any more info on SKAI TV/Greek TV and Mad World whether they are American/International channels or Canadian equivalents? I'm surprised there's no info out there on the CRTC website.
  8. It actually makes more sense now to have all these channels available in Canada before the USA because of Bell Fibe TV. They are able to add as many channels as they want, unlike Cable and Satellite services which are limited due to bandwidth availability. Plus Fibe TV is available in the two biggest Greek markets of Canada. Even when comparing to all of North America, after New York, Toronto and Montreal have the most people born in Greece, even more than Chicago and Boston. But I agree, the more channels the better. I'm pretty sure FIbe will start carrying Star, RIK Sat and 4E TV once they get approved. They would need to have some sort of discounted package for all the channels though, because I don't see many people adding these channels at 5$ apiece when there are better channels available. I'm curious why OTN is still operating Mega Cosmos OTN3 as a Canadian service. I'm assuming it would just be easier to ask for Mega Cosmos to be approved on the foreign channels list and use that feed instead of their own. Since OTN1 ANT1 is a Category A channel, it would make sense to keep operating that one as such since all the carriers have to carry the channel.
  9. Where did you find info saying Alpha Sat was bring shown on OTN3? I thought that was Mega Cosmos, and Alpha Sat was broadcast as a foreign channel.
