Lalin
Any thoughts and ideas? Given the fact that we have won our last four games with 1-0 (Iraklis, Mlada, Oly, and Thrasyvoulos), it is time to change that habit and win 2-0. I see defence keeping a clean sheet for the fifth consecutive game. Salpi and hopefully Victor the goals.
levendi2000
i just like to say that i am impressed with the way the coach has set out the team. even if we win 1-0 for the rest of the season, i dont mind.. greece did it in euro. we were all happy in the end

PAO_OR_DEATH
well loosing is not an option for these "easier" games (no offence to any fans) because we then throw out the hard worked win against osfp, i see a 2-0 for pao......hopefully our strikers score them this time

cyberfish
Our roster is very thin! For this game beyond the 18 players, only two will be eliminated (one is Tzorvas and the other one I think will be a toss-up between Andric and Biscan. Kostios (really does anyone know what's wrong with him? he's been out for a while), Vintra, Gonzales, and Papadopoulos are injured. My best guess for a lineup: -----------------Ebede-------------- Nilsson---Goumas---Morris--Seric ------------Tziolis---Bovio---------- Romero--------Victor---Ivanschitz ---------------Salpigidis------------- Ergotelis has an enthusiastic team, but we will win this one. cyberfish
Another much needed 3 points. I don't mind the win, but our game still needs a lot of work. If Bovio's shot hadn't dropped in I don's see how we would have scored. In the first half we were just there. Nothing was going on from both teams. In the second half we pressed forward and we controlled the game in midfield. Ergotelis was team of limited options, but their players run and hustled on the pitch. They had a couple of semi-interesting chances, but they had no way of threatening beyond some long range shots. In the first half we played a 4-4-2 with Salpi and Mantzios up front. Mantzios played a little behind Salpigidis in the role usually played by Papadopoulos, but he failed in just about every attempt he made. He slowed down our development and lost every single high ball that came his way. In midfield Victor played on the right and Romero on the left, but neither succeded at breaking down their opponents. In the second half Munoz switched Victor and Romero and things improved. Romero found some space on the right and made Ergotelis panic on a couple of occasions. Victor tended to run towards the middle most of the time and had many errant passes. With Ivanschitz in for Tziolis the team improved a little more and had some good runs from both the left and the right with Ivanschitz and Romero. When Leontiou replaced Mantzios our midfield solidified but we still had very few chances to score until Bovio's rocket from 40 meters. This was Bovio's first goal with us and what a beauty it was! He stopped the ball, looked, and unleashed a wicked shot that sailed with absolutely no spin, dipped over the outstretched keeper, hit the bottom of the crossbar and bounced on the back of the net. Here is the video: http://www.sport.gr/football/hellas07/0611...112/ergpao3.asp Ebede was once again very good although he was not seriously challenged. Nilsson held his own against skilled and fast opponents and ventured forward when he had a chance (but not too far forward). He is definetly an upgrade over Vintra. Seric had mostly good moments and Morris won every battle alongside the decisive Goumas who cleared everything that came his way. Victor did a lot of running but not much else even though in the first half he played in his natural position on the right of the midfield. Romero was quiet in the first half on the left, but once he came on the right, he was responsible for our team pressing forward with more pace. Tziolis had an ok game defensively and so did Bovio. When Ivanschitz replaced Tziolis, Victor took Tzioli's place as a second DM next to Bovio who picked up his game immediately. Salpigidis had another monster game, and waisted a couple of very good chances. He has been great all year fighting by himself against two and three defenders. Mantzios on the other hand seemed to be two steps slower than everyone else on the field. He held the ball too long, pulled every jersey that came within reach, and lost every header he contested for. To be fair, playing behind the striker is not suited for his skills, and every time he switched with Salpigidis, the ball rarely arrived with any authority. Ivanschitz had some very good runs down the left but did not do much else. Leontiou played a creative role in front of the two DM and did a very respectful job distributing the ball left and right to our forwards. Theodoridis replaced Salpigidis in the 90th minute and played as a forward, mostly on the right. He helped hold the ball in the last few minutes. Notable stats: This was the first goal we scored with a long distance shot this year. This is the 6th victory in 7 games with Munoz at the helm This is our 5th straight "1-0" victory Ergotelis was undefeated at home until today Panathinaikos is still undefeated on away games Next Game: @ Atromitos (time to score more than once?) I think Munoz is trying players & positions--and, he's managing the team the best under the cirumstances. Let's not forget that he had NOTHING to do with picking players and work with in pre-season training. Not only we're winning but we're showing improvement which is very important to me to see after all these years of "klotsoskoufi" and incompetent coaches. Time is on our side, something that other teams don't have! ;)
