fifa ranks are crap and always have been. who really cares. england is ranked higher than italy, yet italy are the world champs and thats all that matters really.

Lets be totaly honest here...

Who looks at these rankings and why do they matter. We all know that our team DOES NOT belong that high up on that list considering our recent results.

And it's not just our team, there are so many on this list here that we can pick on and adjust accordingly..

Don't even give this list a second though, but to answer your question YES! I do think that FIFA has lost her head... ;)

Evalagoal (just love that name :D ), I could understand the world rankings is full of garbage, sometimes we tend to follow it just to see when our national team are heading to, kind of like in the everyday world we may follow the personal lives of celebraties ever if we don't care so much about it. :rolleyes:

I don't really understand tha ranking thing whatsoever.

FIFA consider England fourth because we haven't (officially) lost a single game in a major tournament since 2002. Since then, we were always kicked out on penalty shoot-outs.

Weird.

Last time England lost an official game, it was against Northern Ireland. FIFA doesn't even count the 2-1 loss versus Belarus as it was a friendly and a B squad game.

Cyprus is ranked 80th and it says they moved up 23 spots

That win from Ireland moved them up.

Not always true loup, lately Ivory Coast and Ghana have been playing well before and after World Cup 2006. Nigeria and Cameroon we're once "powerhouse" nations, now there no where to be as good as they we're before. I wonder why Egypt get the nod at no. 19? :huh: Are they for real?

What's really surprising is why not put Serbia or Ghana in there in the top 20? :D

Rankings are only good for showing a relative ranking IMO.

For example I'm from Canada and they dropped to number 102 or thereabouts but they haven't played hardly any games as a National team lately.

There is a top 7 or 8 team grouping that includes the likes of Brazil and Argentina and then there is a group that goes from 9 to about 25 which includes Greece.

After that you can probably use 25 group intervals.

Very subjective but it still provides a point for discussion boards like this.
