Alonso bitches after Qualification!

I was really enthusiastic of this guy but his overall attitude now has made me hate him! He recalls the memories of Dave Coulthard at McLaren --I think Iliana will remember the Scot's horn-block on Schumi at SPA in 1998 if the One and Only had won, would have taken the Drivers' Leadership over Hakkinen...

well he slipped in Alonso's oils and that's why he finished 9th. <_<

about Alonso's punishment, what's done is done, Michael was punished in Monaco as well but I didn't see anyone talking about "Ferrari International Assistance..."

Of course Alonso is now furious not only for getting that penalty but also for having a DNF on Sunday's race, so the Spanniard fought back in an other way:

Reigning world champion Fernando Alonso believes that for all his talent, German championship rival Michael Schumacher has been the most unsporting driver in the history of Formula One.

Schumacher announced his end-of-season retirement after his victory in the Monza Grand Prix in Italy on Sunday, but not before reducing his deficit on the Spaniard to just two points with three races remaining.

It means Schumacher is now in contention for an eighth world title - however that has failed to impress Renault driver Alonso.

Schumacher's critics talk of his questionable racing ethics, and purists argue that the German should not be included in the pantheon of greatest racing drivers alongside Juan Manuel Fangio of Argentina, Scotland's Jim Clark or Englishman Stirling Moss.

And Alonso, who had a disastrous weekend of racing at Monza, was keen to join those who have often questioned the less sporting aspects of the 37-year-old German's statistically impressive career.

"He's been the most penalised and is the most unsporting driver in the history of Formula One," Alonso said in daily sports paper Marca on Tuesday.

Alonso even claimed that French football legend Zinedine Zidane, who capped his retirement from football with an audacious World Cup final headbutt on Italian rival Marco Materrazzi, had gone out with more glory.

"Despite his headbutt, Zidane even left with more glory," added Alonso.

In Saturday's qualifying Alonso was relegated from fifth to tenth on the grid for an infringement which Renault contested vehemently, and he then failed to finish the race on Sunday when his engine blew.

Alonso now only has races in China, Japan and Brazil, the season-ender on October 22, to defend his title against Schumacher.

The Spaniard did give his German rival some credit, however. "He's been the best driver in the sport, and competing against him has been an honour," said Alonso.

AFP

the answer came a couple of days later but not from Schumacher

Weber: Alonso's insult 'below belt'

Michael Schumacher's manager has accused Fernando Alonso of "pitiful behaviour" after the Formula One world champion described the German ace as the least sporting driver of all time.

Bild newspaper quoted Willi Weber on Wednesday as saying that Alonso's comment to Spain's Radio Marca was an "unbelievable insult, totally below the belt."

"I regard Alonso as a brilliant driver, but his behaviour right now is just pitiful. Michael will give him a suitable answer on the track," Weber said.

The remarks will ensure an even more spirited end to the 2006 championship, with Renault's Alonso two points clear of Ferrari's Schumacher going into the final three races. Schumacher is then to retire from the sport.

Alonso was incensed after he was demoted five places to 10th on Sunday's grid in Monza for impeding the qualifying lap of Ferrari driver Felipe Massa.

Schumacher won at Monza while Alonso pulled over with a blown engine 10 laps from the end.

The Spaniard later attacked what he saw as institutional bias in favour of Schumacher and Ferrari, suggesting on Sunday that there was a conspiracy to hand Schumacher an eighth title.

Alonso told Radio Marca that Schumacher was "the most unsporting driver with the largest number of sanctions in the history of Formula One."

Weber, who has represented the seven times world champion since 1988, demanded an apology from Alonso for what he called "unfair and cheap" remarks.
