Ziaka
Don't forget our games from the qualifying group against France (win) and Tunisia (tie) count in the Quartefinal group standings. Our last game in the quartefinal group is against Czech Republic on Thursday. If we win, we are through to the semifinals. had we not lost to Slovenia yesterday, we would allready be through. drakos13
also Tunisia beat Czech Rep 36-25 with 12.000 spectators..... France and Russia also beat them. So things look good if we play well we will win. also can somebody explain the points??? because all i hear is win with Czech and we are through but currently we are in 3rd behind France (we are tied on points but our goal difference is hurting us) so if France wins they are through instead of us? or will it come down to goal difference (aka, bullshit if you already beat the other team you are tied on points to)
Ziaka
I am not 100% sure, but I think that the tie breaker when the teams have the same points is the games between the teams. In this case we would finish first, since we beat France and tied Tunisia, while France and Tunisia also tied. Ofcourse that scenario is valid only if we beat the Czechs, and assume that France beats Slovenia and Tunisia beats Russia in the last set of games. Ziaka
Reading some of the Czech sports web sites, the Czech handball players are quoted as saying that they will give it their all to defeat the Greek team in order to at least gain the 9th place in the competition. Our NT will have to be carefull against the Czechs, as they have big history in the sport and are very good. However if we play like we did against France and russia, we should have no problem winning the game.
drakos13
i am sure they are upset from the euro too.....i am worried too but u are right, unless we break down we can definitly win this game, everyone else in the group did so can we. Ziaka
Why hate the Czechs? Before the game they said, they want to win so they could finish as high as possible in the standings. They came and took the game to us. I was disapointed in our NT for not winning this game. Had we beaten Slovenia we would have not needed to win this game. Basically we self destroyed ourselves in the two easiest games in this quarterfinal group. We now will play for the 5-8 place consolation.
