Euro 2004 moments

This is from an email message I received:

Date Submitted 07/20/2004

I am looking for help - I have a Greek Australian friend K. S. who is turning 40 in a number of weeks.  He is the president of the (company name omitted) of Queensland in Australia and works tirelessly for its members.  In the last couple of years he took the family twice to the USA to get specialist treatment for his son S. who finally lost his battle with leukaemia.  During S.'s fight the family suffered a roller coaster of emotions which culminated in S.'s mother (K.'s wife) E. being diagnosed with cancer of the tongue requiring surgery and ongoing treatment.

My problem is that K. loves everything Greek and Australian as he says "there are only two types of the people in the world - Greeks and those who want to be Greek!!" .  I know that he followed closely the soccer teams exploits at Euro 2004 and was overjoyed at the team's success.  I would like to purchase a one off momento of the great occasion that i could give to K. as a gift, but my dilemma is who should I talk to in this regard.

If you can point me in the right direction of people to talk to, I would be eternally grateful.  Unfotunately I do not have much time as K.'s birthday party is on Friday 13th August at the Greek club in Brisbane and is timed so that attendees may watch the opening ceremony of the Olympics with K.

Any assistance would be gratefully appreciated

Yours sincerely,    JJ

My response follows:

Hi J.

While we don't have any definitve answers, here's a couple of attempts to help.

a) Try search on the UK version of Amazon (www.amazon.co.uk) -- my search on "euro 2004 dvd" produced one available title.

b ) Here's an area that I came across that sells posters: http://www.lacancha.com/greeceposters.html

I'm not familiar with the site or services, so proceed at your own caution.

c) I will post your request on our Sports forums -- a lot of the members on these sports forums are people of Greek origin that reside in Australia. I have posted a copy of your message there. Please visit the area for responses. The link to the post is:

I hope you do find what you're looking for. Good luck!

Sincerely

Lazarus Sismanis
