‘The greatest striker’: Gerd Müller, legendary German forward, dies aged 75. (The Guardian)

The forward scored 68 goals in 62 appearances for West Germany, including the winning goal in the 1974 World Cup final against Holland.

Thank you Gerd for all you did for the sport

Great player and prolific scorer. I first saw him on TV at the 1974 world cup and since then he was one of my favorite players.

One of the greatest Greeks of modern times. True ambassador of Greece to the World, and not only in music. R.I.P. Miki.

and one clip from a Thanassis Veggos movie playing banned music of Mikis Theodorakis. Sadly both Veggos and Theodorakis spent time in concentration camp of Makronisos because of their political beliefs.

Michael Constantine died on August 31 at the age of 94. He played the role of grumpy Gus Portokalos in My Big Fat Greek Wedding. He also won an Emmy in his earlier years.

World record holder in men's hammer throw Yuriy Sedyhk died at 66. The Ukrainian who competed for the Soviet Union back in the 80s will be remembered for breaking the world record at 86.74 meters.
