Yesterday Giakoumakis scored again after a long time. It was his 25th this season. He now has the record of most scoring VVV-player in one season at the highest level.

His chances of winning the topscorer trophy are high. He will be the first player to win the Willy van der Kuijlen-award since the Dutch FA has announced that will be the name of the trophy after the death last month of the alltime topscorer of the Eredivisie with 311 goals.

As VVV-Venlo drew 3-3 the chances of relegation are also skyhigh.

Scored his 26th today against 020 in the Johan Cruyff Arena but as VVV-Venlo lost and Willem II of Pavlidis won his team is relegated.

With one MD to go and a 7 goal lead over Donyell Malen he will be the first in the history to be crowned topscorer of the Eredivisie and to relegate at the same time.

@Dutch Eagle has Tasos Donis been injured or just unable to establish himself since moving? Disappointing the way his career has stagnated the last few years, he has not been in a consistent starter at any of his teams for a long time.

Injuries haven't helped but to see him go to a relegation bound team in Holland and unable to get regular minutes is concerning.

@paokarag4Tasos had just 5 apps and 182 minutes playing time. Probably not good enough. And the team is not good enough. So they had most of the time more defenders in the squad. 0 goals did not help him either.

Christos btw is injured at the moment but has 9 apps and 546 min. playing time. And 1 goal.

Not good if you miss your first penalty........

Playing for one of the 2 big Scottish teams can be brutal, one or two poor games could spell the end of you. At least the miss wasn't against Rangers, that tends to be fatal.

You can see the penalty miss at 3 mins, he also manages to miss a chance even deeper into stoppage time after that.

A perfect hattrick at that! In a 3-2 win to boot! The winner came in 86th minute

Well done to him, after a rough time with injuries in his first 6 months he has settled and has looked a lot better over the last month or so. The goals have been coming, he gets to the right spots and had been a little unlucky in previous games.

Important win for Celtic too as they now go 3 points clear of Rangers at the top of the league.

Another goal for the Greek goal scoring machine as Celtic squashed St. Johnstone 7-0. It could have led to far more goals on the day for Giakoumakis but he seems to have pulled a hammy right after his early goal to go up 2-0. Coach is hopeful it was more of a preemptive subbing but he is in doubt for the big cup semi against rangers. Seems the lad has a hard time staying fit. A shame as he now has 9 goals 1 assist in 16 games, with multiple of those appearances being subbed on performances. The fans are raving about him tho, with some sites of seen calling him Celtic's best player since the start of the new year. Hopefully the injury is nothing to big and he can be back if not for the cup game, at least the next regular season game. He was under fire after remarks a few weeks ago saying that Celtic was going to take the league title prior to a game against the rangers. The remarks were seen as cocky as at that time, as Celtic were only tied with Rangers at the top on points, but since then, they have built a 6 point cushion and goal differential on the rangers, and the fans are liking his attitude.
