Tsitsipas will face Carlos Taberner from Spain in the first round. Tsitsipas is considered favourite as he is ranked #40 and his opponent #194.

#7 seed Austrian Dominic Thiem should normally be the next opponent for the winner of the tie between Tsitsipas and Taberner.

Maria Sakkari saw Mandy Minella from Luxembourg popping out as her opponent at the draw. Minella has a protected status (rank #301) as she gave birth to a daughter last October. She normally wasn’t allowed to take even part at the qualifiers with that ranking.

Tsitsipas down 2-1 sets against Number 7 seed Theim. Match was postponed due to bad weather. Should be taking to the court in the next half hour or so to complete his match. Let's hope the break has done him some good and he pulls off an upset.

Remember he beat Theim just a few weeks ago en route to the Barcelona final.

Both of them will likely go out unless they pull off an upset.

Sakkari pulled the upset and defeated the Spanish with 7-5, 6-3.

Next opponent: #14-seeded Daria Kasatkina from Russia.

Tsitsipas up 2-0 sets and locked at 5-5 in the third before play was suspended due to bad light. He rallied from 2-5 down in the third (2 breaks) to level it up. Hopefully he can see it out the match tomorrow and make it through to the 4th round

Stefanos Tsitsipas is battling back from Spain's Jaume Munar 4-6. 2-6, 6-1, 6-4
Now playing in the 5th set
Tsitsipas survives winning the final set 6-4 to advance into the second round.
Talk about close call. lol
