Antaeus7
If Sakkari defeats Pilskova today, she will face 18 year old Emma Raducanu of Great Britain in the semifinals. Edited September 8, 2021 by Antaeus7
Antaeus7
SAKKARI DEFEATS PILSKOVA 6-4, 6-4! ON TO THE SEMIFINALS!!! She defeated 3 Czechs in this tournament. Man, what are the odds of that happening? Sakkari usually has a history of struggling against players from the Czech Republic.
Blackhawk
She was great today. Pliskova never had a chance in the game. Let's hope Maria performs as well tomorrow in the semifinal match.
Dutch Eagle
Great win. She now faces 18 years old revelation Emma Raducanu from GB.
Antaeus7
Sakkari is getting owned in the first set from Raducanu 6-1. She better find a way to compose herself and get back in the game. Hernandez knocked out Sabalenka in 3 sets, we could be seeing two teenagers in the finals. Antaeus7
Congrats to Raducanu, simply played better and was much quicker than Sakkari. Sakkari just played a total opposite than what she played throught the U.S. Open. Is it time to realize Sakkari's opportunity to win her first grand slam is running out?
Dutch Eagle
The 2022 tournament started. Stefanos Tsitsipas, seeded as #4, faces Daniel Galàn from Colombia in R1. Maria Sakkari (#3) has drawn Tatjana Maria from Germany.
Blackhawk
Tsitsipas, one of the biggest losers in tennis today. Out in the first round with an embarrassing defeat to the Colombian.
paokarag4
Awful result, he picked up only one game in the opening 2 sets losing 0-6, 1-6. He would eventual lose the match in 4 sets. He hasn't had a great year but his best is still very good, last week he beat Medvedev on route to a Masters final. His biggest issue is clearly mental and until he can get that sorted he will be prone to these type of results and his inconsistency will always hold him back from competing for slams.
Dutch Eagle
So Tsitsipas is out but Maria Sakkari advanced to R2. She won 6-4, 3-6 and 6-0. Next opponent Wang Xi Yu from China.
Brklyngrk
Tsitsipas has had a good year, I believe he is right up there in wins this year. He just hasn't been able to play well in the slams.
Blackhawk
Sakkari loser number 2! Lost to the Chinese. Both Tsitsipas and Sakkari need some psychological help in order to help them with their loser mentality.

Dutch Eagle
2023 R1 Maria Sakkari (seed #8) - Rebeka Masarova (Spain) 4-6 and 4-6 and out! It's going from bad to worse.

Blackhawk
And the slide continues. Sakkari is on her way out of the top 10, and I don't see her returning back.
