Antaeus7
What is happening to Tsitsipas? He was 1 game away from taking the match from Coric 5-1 in the 4th set and blew a 5-1 lead! Now he lost the 4th set 7-5 and Coric forces a 5th set! Talk about a mental breakdown! Watch him lose this! UNBELIEVABLE!
paokarag4
He indeed lost in a 5th set tie-break. Disappointing result for him particularly considering his lead in the 4th set. Big opportunity missed to make a slam quarters or even semis.
Dutch Eagle
Too bad. He wasted had matchpoints to finish the game. He is just 22 (turned 22 last month). At his age there are much ups and downs.
Antaeus7
Maria Sakkari won in straight sets over Amanda Anisimova 6-3, 6-1 ! On to the round of 16 where she could be facing Serena Williams next.

Antaeus7
Stefanos Tsitsipas will never win a grand slam title if he continues to choke away matches where he has it under control.
Antaeus7
Serena Williams it is! Maria Sakkari earlier defeat her in the Cincinnati Open. Grand Slam events is a totally different story. She better be ready, even at 38 Williams still has game.

Antaeus7
A very good effort from Sakkari as she lost in 3 sets 3-6, 7-6 (8-6), 3-6. If she only cut down her unforced errors on her forehands, she could have made this match even more competitive.
Dutch Eagle
Another year. New chances. And we have a third Greek participant: Valentini Grammatikopoulou. She is unseeded and faces fellow unseeded Anna Blinkova from Russia in R1. #17 seed Maria Sakkari meets Marta Kostuum from Ukraine. Stefanos Tsitsipas, the #3 seed, meets good old Andy Murray.
Blackhawk
He is having tough time against Murray. Lost the 1st set and barely won the 2nd in a tie breaker. let's see if he can put him away.
Antaeus7
How good is Grammatikopoulou? I wonder if this is the young prospect my lawyer was talking about?

Brklyngrk
There is another young Greek player that is playing in the juniors that is off to a promising start. She is ranked high I believe for that group.

Antaeus7
Grammatikopoulou lost to Mertens 2-6, 2-6. It was a nice little run from the player of Kilkis in her very first grand slam finals.
Antaeus7
Tsitsipas is getting booed in New York. Guess he is not so popular with the fans and the players over his lengthy restroom breaks. 😄 Keep on booing, that will light a fire in him. Brklyngrk
He's been getting bad press the last two tourneys. Murray is still very popular.
Antaeus7
Sakkari defeats Siniakova 6-3, 6-2 She will face another Czech player (either Kvitova or Pilskova (Kristyna, who is the younger sister of Karolina) in round three.
Antaeus7
Tsitsipas eliminated by a young Spaniard Alcaraz Garfia in 5 sets. 3-6, 6-4, 6-7 (2-7), 6-0, 6-7 (5-7). Thanks to a meltdown in the 3rd set where Tsitsipas had a 5-2 lead and choked away. It's embarrassing how he never make it past the third round at the U.S. Open.
