Greeks at Wimbledon

Very disappointing by Stefano. Watched some of the match, he was quite poor, struggled to return Fabbiano's serve. Fabbiano is very short and his serve is quite slow by ATP standards so it was puzzling. He's had a poor month on grass, not sure why, it should be one of his better surfaces. He still needs consistency, still work to do. As you said Dutch, he'll drop a few places since he was defending points from the 4th round last year.

Hopefully Maria can go on a run, her side of the draw is quite open.

Sakkari won 6-4, 6-1.

Next round will be tough against #8 seed Jelina Svitolina, who was lucky her opponent got injured while she was trailing 1-0 in sets and could have been eliminated.

After 2020 without Wimbledon the grass GS is back.

Tsitsipas, seeded #3, meets Frances Tiafoe of the USA in the first round.

Sakkari, seeded #15, meets Arantxa Rus of te Netherlands in round 1.

Tsitsipas dumped out in the first round by Tiafoe in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3. Perhaps not a massive shock, given his short turn around from Roland Garros, the fact he wasn't able to play a warm-up tournament on grass and the passing of his Yiayia recently. Today was his first match on grass since 2019 Wimbledon (also a 1st round loss)

Still a disappointing result for him, Tiafoe played well and was very aggressive.

Did I read that Stefanos Tsitsipas is dating Paula Badosa?

Hence my refering to other interests.

But Stefanos won. 3-2 in sets and the last set on tiebreak. In R2: local hero Andy Murray!
