Isn't it sad that Trump voters had to conceal the fact that they voted for Trump from friends and family because of backlash?

It is sad that they do not have the courage of their convictions, perhaps some of them know they on the wrong side?

It is sad that millions elected him. It is sad how low our standards have fallen, and how we have regressed as a race (the human one).

I don't understand how those who perpetuated fake news, wild conspiracies, and idiotic arguments ("all I know is what I read on the internet" DJT) are now concerned about good news sources! hmmm

Well, from RT (Russians), here's one: https://www.rt.com/usa/375099-calling-bull-university-course/

Some of our friends here should enroll..:smartass:  though, this would presuppose willingness to stop bullshitting themselves.:baby-022860:

And, then this magic box..:household-813258: fixes everything needs fixing.  So the con-artist in chief, tells the cult members that he, only him, has the magic box.

You have a problem with immigration, I will fix it by building a wall. You know what a "wall" is? Yeah, you have one or more in your home. So, once it's done, no more rapists, drug dealers, killers from Mexico.  The wall is going to be beautiful, the best ever. Believe me.   If you went to Trump University, you know when something is a good business opportunity.  (Hint: tall ladders)

So, what else the bs-in-chief can do? Oh, let's do something the simpletons can perceive as we're doing something. Oh, yeah, cut funding to any org that provides health services to women if it includes abortion.  Why, let's spend more than $1.4 billion dollars in Africa telling those black people not to have sex! It doesn't matter if this has been a total waste, simpletons in this country love such policies. Ask for $1.4 billion to give medical care to human beings and the cons, including "good xtians" say NO, because if god wanted you alive and well, you wouldn't need to be a burden on society.

Hail to the chief..

This is when ideology, (especially those ideas derived from ages and societies steeped in ignorance), prevents good-meaning people from doing sensible things that actually help humanity.

Take for example abortion, a thing nobody likes. I mean everybody wants to have as few abortions as possible; none would be ideal. We can all agree to this. Now, what makes abortions rare? What are those factors that reduce abortions?

Why in 2016 (source) we had the fewest abortions in the US since 1973 when the Supreme Court ruled on Roe v. Wade (legalizing abortion)? The facts are there, and they show that sex ed and most importantly women having access to birth control are what reduces abortions drastically. This is what has made abortion to decline for the last 20+ years

What do you think Trump and the conservatives are doing now?.... Something that works or something that doesn't?  The con leaders either prefer wilful ignorance or want to impress the religiously conservative base....  So, yeah, now with Trump and Pence at the WH, they'll begin to teach ..abstinence and the fear of God as preferred (but failed) method against abortion, while they'll be de-funding women's health clinics and education in human reproduction.

Are we great yet?

It is about claims to reality that are fraudulent, meant to deceive, and boost the ego of a pathological narcissist.....   (and, you said, give him a chance to work for the country... look at what he's preoccupied with....  a juvenile's obsession with anything remotely critical of him).

>>>

MUIR: What you have been presented so far has been debunked. It has been called false.

TRUMP: Take a look at the Pew reports.

MUIR: I called the author of the Pew report last night and he told me that they found no evidence of voter fraud.

TRUMP: Really, then why did he write the report?

MUIR: He said no evidence of voter fraud.

TRUMP: Excuse me, then why did he write the report? According to Pew report, then he’s groveling again. You know, I always talk about the reporters. They grovel when they wanna write something that you wanna hear, but not necessarily millions of people wanna hear or have to hear.

The Pew study focused on outdated voter rolls, which showed people still registered to vote after dying or moving. It found no evidence of people actually voting illegally.

We found millions of out of date registration records due to people moving or dying, but found no evidence that voter fraud resulted.

— David Becker (@beckerdavidj) November 28, 2016

Voter lists are much more accurate now than when we issued that study in 2012, thanks to the 20 states sharing data through @ericstates_info

— David Becker (@beckerdavidj) November 28, 2016

Despite the lack of evidence, Trump has repeatedly claimed he lost the popular vote because 3 million to 5 million “illegals” voted in the November election. He repeated the lie in his first meeting with congressional leaders at the White House on Monday. On Wednesday, he announced a “major investigation” into voter fraud.

<<<

I guess it'd be like investigating Obama's birth certificate for 8 years while saying "you wouldn't believe what my people are finding".....

Geesh, what a fraud! Any decent person when presented with facts and rational arguments would not keep repeating falsehoods because then they become intentional lies.

I know we're in trouble when, even though an American citizen, I find myself cheering for Mexico and Enrique Pena Nieto.

This orangutan is f%cking us up, he's destroying everything. We're already in a war of sorts with Mexico. Who's next?

Relax guys. The 15-30 billion $ needed for the wall will be chump change when Trump's deals and economic plans go into effect.

Here's a treat for the morons who like breathing the fumes from this gas bag.

In the western world, women enjoy the same liberties as men

The "western world" has gradations. Women in the US are not treated as nicely as women in the rest of the advanced western world. The social services, including pre and post-natal support, etc.

Women are different in some ways, right guys? Physiologically they have different needs, and as mothers as well. That's why women, over all, have different priorities than men in regards to public policy. Men tend to focus on law and order, aggressive foreign policy, guns, strong whatever, etc. Women are affected by how strong the social safety net is, and thus they care more about family planning, social services, day care, health care, education, care for the elderly, etc.

But, do you see any problems with that in the US? I mean, it's not exactly even plane for women and men of the same socio-economic level as far as opportunities and treatment.

Example: health plans cover Viagra but not birth control (the ACA forced plan providers, but this is being rescinded under Trump).

Example: There is a big swath of conservatism in this country, where gender roles are still stuck in the 19th century. The view that men are for business and women are for housekeepers. Men are assertive, women are bitches. What do you think the reaction would have been if a woman had come for a debate unprepared, having to explain "grab 'em by the cock", and, she brought to the stage her 5 children from 3 different men. Somehow I think she'd be treated differently than...

I want to agree with you and women have same liberties. They do in constitutional ways, not in reality, as laws are applied or how society treats them. However, I'm glad to hear that you are for equal rights and treatment.

From BBC: Trump fan charged with hate crimes over JFK Muslim attack

A Massachusetts man has been charged with hate crimes for allegedly kicking a Muslim worker at New York's JFK airport and shouting expletives at her. Robin Rhodes, 57, is accused of saying "Trump... will get rid of all of you." and blocking the woman from leaving her office in the Delta Sky Lounge.

Leadership matters. The rhetoric of leaders also matters. Trump has used it skillfully to create an electoral coalition that won him the presidency, but he has to understand certain rhetoric empowers the worst and normalizes abhorrent behavior, so he should stop. He's the president now.

I can't wait to see the spin machine go into overdrive once Trump's plans don't go the way he said they would.

Yeah, but it'll be interesting to see how much spin can win him the day... or his presidency.  Spin is one thing but like Putin says (on SNL) when you're going to lie Donald lie about something important!  (not about something easily verifiable, like the small size of his... ___)

Trump has a very thin skin, and needs to be exulted all the time, so his ego may big his downfall.

Lots being done under this president unlike the last one...

America is great again, and Canada will be great again once the gutless PM is out!

All the scientists Trump hates would love to examine you. For a 40 something you really are truly unique.

Why can't you ever respond to a post that destroys your lack of logic? Instead you hide behind one liners of bullshit.

By productive I assume you see it as a positive that May practically sold off the NHS to American companies?  Productive she refused to discredit torture.  For a "devout christian" you're very confused...

The real xxxxxx are those who voted for this snake oil salesman.

These magic potions are guaranteed to work. Believe me, they are the terrific, the best. Trust me.

And speaking of cut & paste jobs:

The process of embracing a charlatan’s empowering vision is not rational, which means that rational arguments are unlikely, in isolation, to dispel it. Studies have repeatedly demonstrated that people cling tenaciously to their worldviews, and conflicting data may actually strengthen their beliefs. (Just look at this family who thinks Trump is “a man of faith who will bring Godliness back.”) To renounce Trump would mean admitting that one’s worldview—of a country wracked by carnage, as the president put it in his inaugural address, and a truth-telling hero who can heal it—is fundamentally mistaken. And that can also mean confronting existential panic without a panacea. It is much easier to forgive Trump for not locking her up than to wrestle with such truths.

Ronald Reagan is about to become a zombie and chase the traitors in his party who cozy up to a KGB goon. The snake oil Trump has been selling has been taken by 40% of Repugs who think Putin is an admirable leader now.

Drumpf interestingly has not released his tax returns that show how he's getting paid by the Russians, while at the same time he has appointed a Secy of State who has been given award by Putin and when Exxon has big financial interests with Russia.

Dumbo has also ridiculed and insulted the US intel agencies, like the NSA, CIA, FBI, et al, who all agree that Russia, with Putin's blessings, has been meddling in the US election, by leaking docs, spreading propaganda (much of which was repeated by Repubs and some members here). This is a national insult but having drunk Trumpster's snake oil, the cult members vibrate in sync.

The small-hands narcissist has criticized everyone except his golden shower buddy.

Who are the losers again?

A record number of Democrats are lining up and declaring themselves as Democratic candidates for the 2020 Presidential Elections in the USA.
Pete Buttigieg caught my eye the other day in a town hall meeting televised on CNN. I thought he was a well spoken young man, with ideas and values that I agreed with. He needs 65, 000 donors to be invited to the Democrats debate. I would like to see him there, so I donated to his campaign.

      This is from BBC:
Vegan protests: 'Un-Australian' activists arrested, PM Morrison says
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has criticised animal rights activists as "shameful and un-Australian" after dozens were arrested in nationwide protests.
While - I have to admit - I'm note sure where PM Scott Morrison stands on issues, It looks to me like taking out a page from the Orange Orangutan's (Donald Trump) book. Divide the country in an effort to conquer. Pitch one group of people against another and start creating a condition that is hostile to people sharing values. Probably now is a good time to break up labor unions also?
It seems that everywhere one turns, it's a right wing full frontal attack to the voice of the people.

      Inexplicable decision
Online government portal Diavgeia turned out to be one of the most important reforms carried out in Greece over the last few years. A decision by today?s leftist-led coalition government to dismantle the transparency initiative program was based on absolutely unfounded excuses and represents a major setback. The government portal allowed citizens to have access to decisions regarding state recruitments and procurements, the expenditure of public organizations and other interesting information.
In the absence of Diavgeia, what is more than certain is that the corrupt and the wasteful will once more be able to hide behind a veil of nontransparency. The removal of the transparency portal was no doubt an incomprehensible decision on the part of the SYRIZA-Independent Greeks administration.

Trump is not the problem; the DNC (i.e. the Democratic National Committee) is.
When Carter (screwed by OPEC, unpopular thanks to OPEC, and sabotaged by his own party) was defeated in 1978, the Democratic National Committee decided that the plebe that voted Democratic could not be trusted to choose electable candidates. In the future the DNC would choose its own super-delegates who would enable the choice of good candidates.
In 2016 those who read newspapers read that:
The super-delegates were 15% of the total. Therefore, if the elected delegates were Sanders 49% and Clinton 36% of the total, Mrs Clinton would have been the Democratic candidate.
At the New Hampshire’s primary Sanders received 60.4% of the poll vote and Mrs Clinton 38%, of the poll vote. Sanders had 15 voted delegates; Mrs Clinton had 9 elected delegates and 6 superdelegates. Is that possible that the the D in DNC stands for Double-dealing?
On October 30, 2016, the DNC interim chair Donna Brazile was fired from her position as a political commentator at CNN over e-mail leaks suggesting she had improperly supplied Hillary Clinton’s campaign with advance knowledge of debate-questions.
Let us move beyond the lady Macbeth aspects of the DNC. How idiotic must one be in order to manage to lose an election against a pathetic bimbo? This demands great talent. Examples:
α) Trump brags that he will bring the factories back to the USA; the DP claims that the new factories will use robots and the unemployed will remain unemployed.
β) The DP is all for clean energy. What about the coal-miners in WV? Under the DP plan they will live longer because of cancer avoidance. Moreover, since they will have less money, their life-span will feel even longer.
γ) In the US the members of every group live, on the average, longer than the previous generation. With one exception; low-class whites. To the best of my limited knowledge, the DP has no plan for them.
My impression is that Trump is not the problem. The doctor Frankenstein that created him is.

We had another mass shooting in the US, this time in Las Vegas, the deadliest of its kind, until the next one of course. Our right to be safe is trampled by the right for someone to own military-grade weapons.
We had hoped that after the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, Congress would act to pass some federal gun safety laws. Nothing!  The victims' stories and pictures in Vegas are beginning to circulate now. I'll leave you with the images of the children of Sandy Hook as a horrific reminder that how a political party and its leaders are essentially in the pocket of the gun lobby.

Pentagon Officials Allowed Workers to Use Government Credit Cards at Strip Clubs

The initial 2015 audit discovered that workers spent nearly $100,000 at various strip clubs and related adult-oriented establishments, which kinda sounds like nothing when compared with the estimated $1 million spent at casinos. As for how exactly such charges are allowed to exist, the report's findings suggest that Defense Travel Management Office officials and DoD management did not properly explain how the travel cards should be used. Furthermore, DoD officials were not adequately trained on how to discipline those found to have misused the cards. For the complete rundown, read the full report right here.
