Greece's Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign begins with a away match against FIFA's newest member Gibraltar on 6 September 2016 at the Estádio Algarve in Portugal.

I like what I saw of Greece in the two friendly internationals in Australia. Greece seemed to play a much more aggressive, attacking game than that very casual, think I'm a superstar stuff we saw during Euro 2016 qualifying. Samaris always seems to play better along side Maniatis. He seems to take control of the midfield because Maniatis terrorizes the opposition midfield with his aggressive attitude & add the return of Kyriakos Papadopoulos our attacking players like Fortounis, Mitroglou etc will benefit.

really happy we're started with a minnow rather than the hardest opposition than the euro

a lot of sports is pure momentum so getting an easy win will be huge for our confidence

This should be easy, and no I am not being arrogant. Who the hell is Gibraltar?

                Karelis....mitroglou

Xolebas...mantalos..fortounis..gianniota

                        Samaris

Manolas..Papadopoulos..papastatho

                      Karnezis

I would go with something like this for this match. We should have no problem netting 6.

Why are they playing the game in Portugal? Is there stadium not ready to host the game?

there is a music festival the days prior in Gibraltar's only decent stadium....there's no time to prepare the stadium for a WCQ.

okay so goal differential could be important if we have a good qualification.

Should Ninis or fetfatzidis be playing in this match to help create some chances.

For Ninis to play that means either Fortounis or Mantalos miss out. Fetfa plays, either Gianniotas or Bakasetas miss out. I'd go with who we have.  Which other dm would we replace Tziolis with, perhaps Kourbelis though he hasn't had a shot yet?

^I'd go as far as saying if we even draw this game we should withdraw.. anything but a dominate performance with a convincing win will be disastrous for the team and its chances.

If we lose this game I think we should withdraw from all future competitions.

OK we lost to Faroe Islands .... but surely we cannot lose to Gibraltar. Seriously !!!
If we do lose, I'll personally stop following football & watch old ladies play lawn bowls lol hahaha

Siopis is a good Tziolis replacement. Kid helpd Panionios defence when Hatziisaias left.

I read that Skibbe has sent scouts to both of Gibraltar`s friendly games. I'm so glad he is taking this game for granted.

It is so important to instill a winning mindset from the get-go. Although qualifications stretch out a year, there are only 10 matches and just one team qualifies automatically. Every game, every goal, is important.

^ I agree, we are in no position to take any team for granted even Gibraltar.. The last thing we want to do is go in the history books again for another nations win just like the Faroe Islands.

That's not really the case. They have 18 full international games, including Euro qualifying games under their belt. They have 1 win against Malta and draws against Liechtenstein and Estonia.
