Original 21
The player we will build around, he's our most important player and hopefully he will come back stronger than ever from the ACL injury.
Irlandos
I don't think we will be building around anyone. We should go with the nicely gelled team we have already built with maybe 3-4 additions and a bit of depth. But Mandalos is tops with me too! Original Sydney
Word is he could be back as soon as Round 3 vs PAS. Wonderful if correct, but same time I hope they aren't rushing him back, ACL's are a very hard injury to recover from.
Dikefale11
Yeah same i dont want him rushed back but he has been training regularly with the squad for some time now, lets see what happens stil 3 weeks away or so
Dava-G
Let him gain his strength. He should sit out for a few months and play with the reserves until he gains his psychological edge back.

Original Sydney
He is a big talent no doubt and we have depth in his position now so personally I don't want him rushed back to please the fans, this isn't an easy injury to come back from so our physios need to be 150% sure before he hits the field again. I would keep him on ice for a few weeks more. But in Dellas we trust!!!!
Akritis_1944
As a non-AEK supporter I'm really impressed with Mandalos. Excellent technique and vision. Very good left foot as well. I hope he fully recovers and returns even better this season.

Original 21
Game 3 right after the International break he should be ready to play, he's been practicing with the team for a while now but they don't want to rush him back.
Ethnikos
i don't care if the guy has only one eye, what matters is what he can do on the field. Mantalos is something very special.
Original 21
He's gonna miss the Asteras game and the national team games with an injury. Hopefully back for the Panthrakikos game on the 22nd. We are lucky it wasn't a bad injury because that hack Sanchez could have re torn Mantalos' ACL with that two footed tackle... Original Sydney
Thankfully its only 2 weeks, good opportunity for Diego to step up and show us what we can do....
Original Sydney
I also believe Sanchez didn't get a card for that reckless tackle he did on Mandalos that actually injured him and could've done more serious damage. Yet Berg continued to play on whilst Mandalos didn't.
Original Sydney
Pana its a derby tackles always fly in them, not saying what he did was right, he could've broken his ankle but didn't, but Sanchez actually injured Mandalos, you cant go diving into tackles like that and he does have a history of it

Original 21
He's a beast, was supposed to be out for two weeks but he practiced normally today and has a chance to be in the apostoli for the game Sunday. Doubtful he starts however.
Dikefale11
Doesnt look too bothered on the pitch imo, holds the ball well but final ball is poor. He has been back a while now and played many games he should well be match fit. Could be a mental thing.
CHE21QNS
Based on his comments and performances I'd say Mandalo isn't ready to have the weight of the term "leader" on his shoulders. He will be our leader one day, its just we're putting a lot of pressure on the guy, really soon. One of his issues is that he puts his legs in harms way often and so he get injured. After his last injury he should have gotten some games to rest here and there. He pretty much lost his rhythm after that injury because he wasn't able to fully rest and become match fit the way we waited after his serious injury form last year. I haven't lost hope in Mandalo though. Hopefully he'll show up his good old self against mpaok and inspire us like he knows how.
Original Sydney
I just think the style we are playing under Poyet doesn't suit him at all. Players like Johanssen have done well but Mandalos has struggled.
Dikefale11
Yeah maybe left CM isnt his role, he is more of a player that plays behind the striker. Kind of like a second striker. His assist ratio was suck pre injury. Goals not bad either.
Original Sydney
I agree Dikefale, LCM doesn't suit him he needs to be right behind the striker, this is why he isn't doing much now, whereas last season in the free role he had he was scoring and assisting pretty much each game. Original Sydney
Correct Amo but the Oly game is almost 2 weeks away I think he will be right for it. Either way throw Bakasetas at #10 and we don't have any issues. He is more than capable of doing the job for us but let's see what Ketsbaia has on his mind
Original Sydney
Surgery already done took 2 hours, he can train in a week to 10 days with a mask. Touch and go to play against Oly as I'm sure if he does play they target him. They're saying at most 20 days
