well its finally happened fetfatzidis has left olympiakos and signed for genoa for 4m euros, lets hope he can get regular first team football because he wasn't getting any playing time at oly. good move for him hope it works out for him as he has talent and can be a great asset to our national team.

his future is uncertain at the moment. he doesnt seem to fit in the plans for genoa next season. no serious offers yet , only some interest from greece and italy. he desperate needs playing time as was seen why with the ethniki. he clearly lacks form and morale.

i remember kucka from fetfa's first season with genoa. he was indeed a dangerous player from the left side. and indeed tachtsidis is better of and has more chance of starting for a club like hellas verona. i posted that genoa will take tachtsidis back but thats not official yet so who knows he will end up at a better club that suits him more. but last i read is that hellas verona is trying to keep him , on loan or permanent.

its still quiet around fetfa except that you posted that carpi mentioned his name. im not sure if he will leave but if fetfa stays i hope for him that falque will leave to another club. he did well last season.

a while ago i posted that fetfa isnt in the plans of gasperini and now it seems more reality. he is asked to stay home and he can train with the other players at genoa who also have to look for another club. he wont take part in genoa's pre-season.

Fetfatzidis will get minutes at Genoa. Genoa was forced to offload several of last seasons attacking options and now more or less have a whole new offensive three.

I hope so. The "kid" is 24 years of age and has spent his professional career coming off the bench.

How do they have the same brain NInis went Italy didnt play got released. Worked hard to come back and rejoined Panathinaikos. Fetfatzidis had a more decent run than Ninis in Italy, isnt favoured anymore, on the bench, loaned out to Chievo and Genoa do not want him anymore. So he chooses to go Saudi Arabia. Ninis made a good decsion at least and came back to Greece, Fetfatzidis should of done the same and gone back to Olympiakos. You are right to a point they both are not smart enough to make decisions.

Let's just see....A year there starting every game could be the confidence builder he needs. It's not ideal, but it doesn't need to be a disaster either. The Saudi league has a higher profile than it had even a couple of years ago.

It obviously wasn't happening for him in Italy so he did need a change.

and we had all the osfp haters telling us that we ruined his career???  he was very limited in his style and often he stymied our set up...

osfp were lambasted for playing Kazim ahead of Fetfa...3 years on Kazim is playing in a higher level...

osfp haters need to remove the coloured glasses.

Looked like a marginal professional from day one. Circus act not a footballer at the top level.

I have more respect for guys like Stafylidis. Not the most talented or creative on the ball but a hard worker and willing to go down a level with his team to showcase himself.

Nowadays a lot of young and (in his case say somewhat) talented footballers go to Saudi Arabia, UAE, China and places like these. Sometimes even without playing for a European club. I remember I was a bit stunned when I saw that Pisculichi plays at 24 for a Qatari team (he played before that for Mallorca). That was in 2008, now it is a fairly common thing to transfer to these clubs even when youre young.

As for Fetfatzidis, I hoped for some time he will do better than Ninis (who was a disgrace when he played for Parma and fell soon out of favor), but he became nowhere a member of the starting eleven. Now as I see it, he doesnt deserve a place in the NT (starting XI).

I'll tell you why he went there. If they waved a million or more euros per season in your face, you would probably go as well.

He wasn't playing in Italy and looks as though no other teams were really interested. Go back to Greece and play for Atromitos or whoever on a low salary and possibly not even get paid?

Money talks, especially these days if you are Greek.
