Nikitas
ninis himself is stunned that charleroi doesnt need him anymore. he think he had a good year. http://www.multi-news.gr/sport24-ninis-as-afisoun-elefthero/ https://translate.google.nl/translate?hl=nl&sl=nl&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.voetbalnieuws.be%2Fnews%2F234948%2FSpeler_haalt_serieus_uit_naar_Charleroi%3A_Dat_ze_me_dan_laten_gaan Edited January 3, 2017 by Nikitas
Nikitas
charleroi is prepared to terminate the contract of ninis. soon he will be free. http://www.gazzetta.gr/football/article/1029997/menei-eleytheros-o-ninis
Argy
So strange. To terminate his contract, can't be based on lack of skill for the Belgian league. I don't even think it's solely based on inconsistency. There must be several underlying issues.
Dean97
I think it was just personal. The coach doesn't want him and wants someone else. On Sport24.gr there is an article about how it's been 10 years since his his debut at Panathinaikos. It goes through the important stages of his career. He must have been so highly rated back then that he got burned out fast. Yes he is talented but he was never going to be the saviour to Greek football or the national team. They were treating him like he was the next Maradona.
Greekaroos
Many Greek footballers are late bloomers! They play their best football once they reach 29 years of age or older. Theo Zagorakis, Traianos Dellas, Michalis Kapsis, Jose Holebas, Oresti Karnezis & quiet a few more. I believe Georgios Tzavellas in the last 12 months has improved a lot adding so much more to his game from free kicks specialist to all of sudden looking like a very confident & solid central defender & not just that skinny left back. Torosidis at 31 years of age hasn't lost as much speed as what people on this site say & I think will play some of his best football of his career in the next 3 years. Mitroglou, Papastathopoulos, Samaris, Fetfatzidis & Ninis will also improve as they mature.
Dean97
I agree with you about Holebas and Karnezis. Papastathopoulos will only get better. I disagree with you about Torosidis. In my opinion he was a much better player back in 2010-11. He was faster and fitter then. He hasn't dropped off that much but was heaps better 4 years ago. georgelaz
I'm really liking Tzavellas nowdayz. He has a winners mentality too. Saying 'we're going into belgium for the win.' That's unlike the Greece we saw in the euro campaign who would make sheepish statements.
paokarag4
not so sure about the winners mentality, publicly perhaps but apparently the reason he has been banished from us because leading into the fiorentina game he was saying to the other players and some staff there is no way we can win in Italy. And this was coming from one of the most senior players on the team and our vice captain. Not the kind of thing you want any player saying let alone someone with his standing in the squad. Akritis_1944
Tzavellas is an idiot. He needs to be transitioned away from the NT. Thanks for the memories, now kindly f*** off.
Greekaroos
I remember prior to Euro 2004, on most forums people were saying that what is Theo Zagorakis doing in the National Team squad ahead of Akis Zikos & Ieroklis Stoltidis. Too old & too slow apparently!

Argy
Lateral move. Not bad, all things considered. Hope to see some consistent play from him.
Nikitas
he made his debut yesterday and came on somewhere in the 67th minute. looks like he lost the ball on a crucial moment in the end of the match from when the keeper made a blunder and rockbottom team westerlo scored the 1-2. https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=nl&sl=nl&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.voetbalkrant.com%2Fnl%2Fnieuws%2Flees%2F2017-01-22%2Fcolin-coosemans-lag-aan-de-basis-van-het-mechelse-verlies

Alphonse
I know we have seen talents go to waste but Nini has to be up there with one of the biggest Most of the others at least played in Greek teams be mid table, Ninis has virtually wasted the year’s away since the first stint in Belgium and even then they let him go
