Regards to trikalinos1 from Boston. I've been through all the iterations of Greek TV, Dish to Directv to Home2US and now, Ellas TV. I've had the Ellas TV box with the premium pack since Home2US disappeared. I have to agree with my patrioti, Trikalinos1, that the system has had significant improvements made to it, especially the last 2-3 months. The freeze ups are long gone, lip sync issues have gone away and content has increased dramatically. I made the investment in power line ethernet to feed the Ellas TV box, instead of wi-fi, and it is now solid on all channels. Picture quality is impressive and the sound is as good as the source material. As I've mentioned before, I'm not a soccer fan, but if you are, it seems to have every match. I love Greek music and there is a seemingly endless choice including VOD concerts. As an experiment, we took the box and cables on our last trip, connected it to hotel ethernet and it worked fine. Does anyone know if the ipad or laptop version is working yet? Bottom line, the wifey (whose opinion is the only one that matters!) loves it for the Greek soaps, music and news, so it stays.

My friend is using the air tv to connect the ipad to his tv instead of using the box. I think programming is cheaper in ipad as well compared to box.

Did your friend experience any issues with the sound quality when connecting the iPad with the tv via air tv?

We had some changes the last couple days.  Few new channels from Cyprus like Capital, TV Plus, Music TV and MAD Cyprus. 

 

I also heard that they are going to make avilable the recording feature by using the USB port very soon.  Also i heard that EPG will be available soon as well.

I spoke with a friend of mine who has the ipad version. He told me that the quality is awesome. The only thing is that you have to buy the app $15 also you need to create a new account and password, therefore to pay again since you cannot use the account you may have with the top box. If your friend is a current Ellas set top box customer then the ipad or iPhone is FREE. Just need to pay for the app and once downloaded he would be able to watch the same channels he currently watches on the set top box for FREE.

IPad is working but you need to spend $14.99 to download the Ellas TV app. However and since you a current Ellas TV customer you will be able to use both your iphone and ipad with no monthly subscription cost.

Yep. That's accurate because I have a second set box and pay extra $10. However i still had to pay $75 for the set top box. Per their promo one can get the set top box for $75.By the way they have added some new channels as well. OteSport 4, TV 100, vergina tv and Gnomi TV.

This is just fuken ridiculous, instead of adding new channels all the time why don't they concentrate on their existing service and get it working 100%

Everything is all over the place, how hard is it to put all their channels together? sports channels all together, movie channels all together etc. their channels one day they are working the next they don't, the following day their working with lip sync issues..... seriously wtf! Who gives a F*** if you have 200 channels if the service is s%$#! ti na to kano to gamidi????

By the way you can view the channels by category if you have the set top box. Select Mega Cosmos (channel 0) and press enter from your remote control.  From there on the left hand side you are going to see a bar with all the channels.  Move up where you see "All Channels" and from your remote control scroll to the right where you can view the different categories.  Also you have the option to add them to your favorites list.  

 

I agree with you that they should put all the channels together but at least and for the time being we have an alternative solution.

You better get used to it Georgiet as it will be the rule as opposed to exception to the rule. It's really sad that those guys haven't got it together by now.

If you call tech support I bet they will tell you "weird you are the only one with the problem, all our clients never reported such an issue".

If you have alternative options take them, don't let yourself get frustrated with those guys.

I was told that as of recently the current US lineup has become a big mess with rearrangements and a lot of double channels now labeled cable and Verizon for some reason.

I'm a little confused by the duplicates labeled Verizon.  They need to stick to the same channels and add the new ones in on later numbers or better yet group channels together.  Its all over the place right now.

For some reason we have lost Private Spice after the update. But on a good note no problems, no lip syncs. Fingers crossed!!

Our lineup in the US is very similiar but they duplicated mega, star, antenna, alpha and now you have to scroll through like 6 channels to get the next one. They need to remove the duplicates.  I don't think Private Spice is needed and it would be nice if they brought back Euronews.

I wonder why all the doubles with Verizon, and grouped together with the regular versions? As for the line up posted, it looks like Ellas TV is really growing their line up with all these local channels; hopefully their overall service won't be overlooked and suffer. As I understand it subscribers are still waiting for an EPG and catch-up TV.  From the looks of the list, it looks like they have Athens and Thessaloniki very well covered with local channels. As the majority of these local channels mostly appeal to people from those areas, maybe they could fill the gap for the rest of the country by adding some Patras area channels like gyros suggested, like Patra TV and Super B. Also maybe channels like Acheloos TV and Lepanto TV from Aitoloakarnania, which appears to lack coverage in the line up.

So far so good for the service.  Just wish they got rid of those duplicates that are all in a row.  Its kind of pain to have to hit the up button 6 times to get to the next station.  Hopefully they add those new channels that say are coming soon.

They just added about 9 channels this week, mostly local channels in Athens.  So far so good.  It definitely destroys Dishnetwork. I'm paying close to the same price for a lot more channels.
