Sotirios Kyrgiakos (retired)

Kyrgiakos has really cornered himself with this move...or lack of it I should say.

As some of you have already alluded to...PAO had a clear deal with Rangers and both Sotiri and Rangers mucked it up.

If he's such a hot commodity to Rangers then they should have paid the 1.2 million and none of this drama would have occured.

You have to wonder where this kid is though. Hiding somewhere in his village or something?

I don't think he will be going to Roma.........they have a transfer ban, don't they?

yes Roma have a transfer ban over the Phillipe Mexes fiasco.

Rangers say he's important to their plans so they should have dished out the cash already.

who knows, this might cost him his place on the nationnal team.

We have the cash ready to go but the player himself is stalling ,trying to tout himself around clubs in Italy with his new Italian agent.

Rangers want him...........the money is available.............PAO are happy to sell to us............Kyrgiakos hasn't given an answer yet!!!

We have just had a

This is what was in the evening Glasgow newspaper. Our CE Martin Bain has been meeting with Soti's agents and Tavlaridis's agent trying to persuade them to come. There is no point dealing with PAO if Soti doesn't want to come in the first place.Once Kyrgiakos commits to joining Rangers then another load of crap starts about the fee with PAO.............God help us all!

I see the player as the victim in this whole affair caught up in the complex, secretive, under-the-table dealings of the two boards.

Kyrgiakos has missed much-needed training and may even miss the entire season plus his callup to the NT. He is the one that stands to lose while Bain and Jigger(y-pokkery) each wait for the other to blink.

PS. I wouldn't give any credence to anything I read anywhere. It seems no one knows the full story.

:band: Pure gutted that it couldn't work out that he stay's at Ibrox for another while.I can't help feeling that Soto has made a mistake in rejecting Ibrox at this stage but he is a big boy-hope that thing's work out for him all the same & he find's another "stepping stone" club as good as us.

See some of you Greek Bassa's in Europe this year's Champ's League Season or in Konaki Greek Taverna

Yassoo :gr:

Well it sucks right now to be Kyrgiakos. But a lot of this crap was brought on by himself.

Rangers put on a very fair offer but...and this is the big "but"...who in their right mind would accept that sort of offer? Let's say he got injured 3 games into the season. Or let's say McLeish decided to bench him later on. Perhaps just enough to prevent him from hitting that 90% mark. Stranger things have happened but in the wacky world of football today...where some clubs are penny pinchers and some just splash the cash everywhere...I wouldn't at all be surprised.

Kyrgiakos would have been foolish to accept their offer. Rangers thought they were dealing from a position of strength, and I guess in some ways they were in knowing that PAO didn't want the player and that he had thus far had no other offers. But now they don't have him...or Tavralidis. Kyrgiakos has no club at the moment as PAO (or should I say Vardinoyianni) clearly don't want him and are set just to let him rot. Which is a shame because this kid has a lot of upside to him.

Stupid decisions from the onset of this whole situation from both Kyrgiakos and Rangers set all this crap in motion in the first place. Now, they both lost and PAO are just sitting on an asset they don't even want. ;)

Soti was spotted at Ibrox this afternoon watching the friendly with Borussia Moenchengladbach.................I'd have thought he would have been out of town by now. Some people are saying that the deal maybe still alive.I guess we'll find out soon enough.Kyrgiakos has had some time to find a new club and it seems that Rangers were the only club who made an offer.Bolton manager is still in Thailand for pre-season...........and the league season will be starting very soon.I hope he is playing his cards correctly.

The newspapers are today reporting that Rangers are making a last bid to keep Kyrgiakos at Ibrox. If the deal is in any way similar to the pay per play deal previously made, my advise for Sotiris would be to get the hell away from the place. As the saga has developed, I've become increasing tired of noises from Rangers declaring how keen they are to keep the player, and how generous their offers have been.

Surley the purpose of the loan period was to assess his knee - fair enough. He had no problems, and played every game after his arrival. But to offer him a contract which states that 90% of games must be played to receive his full salary is absolute nonsense. In how many businesses would this be accepted - not many I'm sure. Even in the inflated market of football salaries, an individual still has the right to know how much he is going to make over a period of time. What he then does with it is up to himself.

Rangers have a poor track record where contracts are dermined by appearances. Ask Michael Ball, who had been involved with the England national team prior to joining Rangers. There was a clause in his contract which stated that after he played a certain amount of games, an additional payment of say

Michael Ball is a completely different character from Soti.He was sent off needlessly in his first game for Ranger's,was banned & then picked up an injury.Dick Advocaat signed him & Ranger's did not win much with him.The payment was to Everton upon playing so many games, after our paying million's for guy's who didn't kick a ball at Ibrox by not declaring injuries.

Where-ever Soti goes their will be a Court Case following him or Pana seeking some sort of payment which is challengable in the European Court's(I certainly don't specialise in contract law) which could affect his wages if the Greek FA do not consider him a Bosman.

If Soti keep's playing his usual game & showing his commitment on & off the park the Team will love him,the Fans will love him,the Chairman will love him & Alex McLeish will love him(although I think that he already does!!!!!!!)

Heard that he was in Glasgow at the weekend & hope that something can be arranged-Ranger's need fan's like Evergreen with the Lucky "Four Leafed Clover's"

Yassoo.

Just heard that Soto can play anywhere in Europe except Greece & Ranger's Manager Alex McLeish did everything within his power to keep Soto but he was outwith Ranger's wages capabilities....

Good Luck Big Man & Thankyou big Soto! :king:

Celtic signed a big Turkish Centre Half called the "Animal" who sound's a bit dodgey?I know it's off topic, but does anyone rate him?
