Ireland leapt to the top of Group C with a 3-2 victory over Poland, however - for me at least - the big story was the trouble that flared up before, during and after the game. I had never heard a national anthem being booed at Windsor Park before, I had never heard a player - Artur Boruc - being hounded so much by boos and jeers before, I had never seen an official injured by a thrown object before, I had never seen the riot squad at WP before, I had never seen Republican banners - clearly intended to provoke - before, I had never seen flares nor fires in the stands before, I had never seen seats hurled at the Police - or anyone for that matter - before nor had I seen so many ambulances racing to and from the stadium before.
