Irlandos
Last, but NOT least, our second UEFA Cup representative, Cup-winners Anorthosis Ammochostos, will play against Vardar Skopje, a team that has played Greek clubs in the past. The fixture is tricky but the Varosi club has eliminated stronger opposition in the past ;) Good luck to Anorthosis and...

Irlandos
Anyone know if there was controversy surrounding the goal? I see a FYROMitis was red-carded in the same minute as the goal was scored.

DUDE
Anyone know if there was controversy surrounding the goal? I see a FYROMitis was red-carded in the same minute as the goal was scored. Basically, the Skopjanoi were protesting that the goal was offside (even though it clearly wasnt!), one of their players got abit aggressive toward the ref and he got a red.As for the game, Anorthosi looked very lethargic and the passing wasn't very fluent either. Hopefully its because its still pre-season, and by the next 14 days (the return leg) they'll be a lot sharper. It's great that all 3 Cypriot teams won without conceding a goal and as they get sharper things can only get better.
Genome
He got agressive towards the ref and got red? Weird I thought a player could only get a card for behaviour towards another player? And indeed great work of the Cypriot teams ! ! !

Irlandos
Go home, Skops! Does anybody know if a Greek/Cypriot club team played a Skop team before this match? Omonia played Rabotnicki(?) a couple of years back with results in the order of 5-0 for both legs. Also Ethnikos Achnas played a FYROM team in the Intertoto Cup but were eliminated 1-0,0-
