DUDE
this guy wins another one...im a casual tennis fan, but he'll go down as the best ever... hes the most dominant athlete in his sport today Well there have been some great players in the past so thats tough to say. At the moment Sampras is widely considered to be the greatest ever and Federer has some way to go to beat him. Pete was up against better players than Federer is and you have to take that into account. Federer is undoubtedly the most dominant sportsman today though. loup
Sampras has the most GS titles true, but without the career Grand Slam I don't think he can be considered the best ever. He reached the semis only once in Roland Garos. Laver won the Grand Slam in '62 took 6 years off as a pro and then once the GS events were open to pros again won all 4 in the same year again in '69. Amazing. That said I think Federer - if he wins the French - will be considered the greatest of all time, very soon. 10 titles and complete domination.
