I agree 100%. If we want the best for the team then we need to play the best players possible. I’m sick of past coaches playing limited players. Santos did it with Vyntra and Katsouranis. Skibbe did it with Tziolis and Tzavellas and now JVS is doing it with Bakasetas and Stafylidis. I don’t think Skibbe is better. They are propably level. But I appreciate JVS in trusting some of our youth. I have mixed feelings. I don’t know if he should stay or go. If he goes then we’ll propably get someone similar to him. If he stays then who knows what will happen. Will he learn from his mistakes? He didn’t learn from the nations league.

Bakasetas was not the problem. He was one of the main reasons we even had a shot

What really needs to happen is for the coach to go. He hasn’t learned anything and continues to give this team no plan or strategy on how to break down teams. This LBs at CB have to stop and so does Bakasetas and a few others have to leave the team. The only way this could happen is if the coach leaves. This is what happens when you don’t play your best players.

Last thing we need is ANOTHER freaking coaching change

Simply we need to win at least 3 and draw 1  and finish 16 pts and with a bit of luck get 2nd.

One good thing about this Greek team is they don’t lose easily.

Surely the Sweden win gives the team belief they can do it. It would be great if we can get to Nov and the last game at home with Kosovo and still have a chance. That alone would be amazing and show that the team is headed in the right direction.

In that scenario, we'd need to beat Sweden and I guess tie Spain, correct?

I think I am on the same thought. I really liked what he did at the start, we were going nowhere and then started playing fast flowing football but that has not been seen this campaign but for the last 30 minutes vs Sweden were we looked to come out of our shell and play football, even Bouchalakis looked a totally different player.

JVS for me has so much promise, I would just hope he continues to do what makes us work and see that when you have players that can play balla like Tzolis for example, and get someone to work on the right wing we can do some damage.

The next two games are important, under JVS we are playing very well against big teams but really struggling to break down the Georgia's and Kosovo's and this simply can not continue.

In my view, the line up working against Sweden when we decided to snap out of playing like scared kids and took the game to them, this line up wont work against Georgia for example as we need to break them down (and from the first minute, we cant keep giving away so much time before we start to play), thus we need a more dynamic combo in the middle then Zeca-Bouchalakis and we need more on the right than expecting Androutsos to do it as he can't, he needs someone ahead of him.

Octobers games are gona be huge.

What's the ideal lineup for the October games in your opinion?

We have some good young talent, fortunately for us most of that talent will continue to be developed across Europe rather than in Greece. We have a few holes in the team(Center mid/right-back) but on the whole this is a team which should be qualifying for a 24 team Euro. World Cup qualification is harder, we were unlucky to cop a very good Sweden team from pot 2.

If he somehow pulls of a miracle (first step was taken last night) and gets us to Qatar 2022, then of course he will stay on. The only way he stays on if we don't qualify for the WC is if we heroically fall short on the last matchday. What I mean by that is we beat Kosovo on the final matchday and Sweden and Spain have colluded  for a result which sends them both through at our expense (very unlikely I know, as that would entail us having beaten both Sweden and Spain before that point, which would probably render my above scenario impossible anyway)

Unless we fall off a cliff in the next 4 games, I would keep him on for the Euro 24 qualifiers which I realise is an unpopular opinion. I think this team, as you point out is good enough to qualify for a 24-team Euro and I think JVS should be given the chance to guide us to that particular tournament.

Right. But at some point, the Ethniki has to pick a path/strategy/coach and stick with it. Turning over the coach every couple years just sets us back to square one every time. We will never go anywhere with that mentality.
