With the Italian we were not an attacking side. 5 players at the back at times and some really bizarre formations, changes every game he was too inconsistent and his style was never really solid. In Europe the first few games his tactics seemed to work, but when we got scored on the team would lose morale. Ouzo is a better coach than the Italian in my opinion.

    Wrong.

    He was very consistent.

We played a 3-5-2/ 5-3-2 attack/defense in europe which fit the side like a glove.

For domestic games, he would always drop one of his CB and play a 4-2-3-1 and even 4-3-1-2.

He got us past brondby, whereby had we played a 4-4-2 rombo as we played with anastasiou, we would never have knocked them out. The team should've had maximum points against both malaga and standard away from home. We should've humiliated malaga, with the amount of chances we created. To win these games though, you need leaders like kara that can play for 90min. In the past, our results would reflect our performances.

I liked strama because he knew how to play in europe and eventually i think he would've brought in the right players that can give the side some character as a lot of the guys we currently have are way too passive. Strama also has connections ouzo can only dream of. We were linked to melo just before his departure, instead we got kourbelis.

Have to say I enjoyed watching the likes of Iceland and Wales take on the big teams. No complaints there.

    Decent sides, nothing special.

For me regarding the smaller nations,  i enjoyed watching denmark 98, croatia 98, turkey 00, 02 & 08, czech republic 04, australia 06

    I haven't enjoyed a major competition since 2008.

  3. ^^Reduce the number of teams that go.

In 98, 32 teams made sense because you had the likes of denmark that had a brilliant side. Even iran were decent.

In terms of quality, the last two world cups have been terrible.

If you allow deadbeats to take part, the end product will be something similar to what we witnessed at the euro's.

Remove the deadbeats, this will prompt them to improve.

That squad will probably not get passed Bosnia.

And will finish third ahead of Estonia, Cyprus, Gibraltar...a far cry from a WC semi or quarter..

Bosnia is the second best team in this group. They deserve to go through. It's sickening to think the likes of maniatis and samaris playing at a world cup and not pjanic.

Our squad won't do much, you can't hide your flaws forever.

Until we produce the next tsiartas, hell even kara and basinas, we don't deserve to be playing worldcups. And same goes for the other nations which currently house national pools of deadbeats.

after educating myself more on the bosnian team I would say we're about equal. They have in offense what we have in defense.

Us not having Manolas is the equivalent to them not having Pjanic. So we were handicapped. They might argue they were missing another key player but so were we (Holebas).

Dear god. Did you not watch the game? Our guys couldn't exchange a second pass. The game plan was find mitroglou.

When you have maniatis in the midfield with samaris and the opposition has pjanic, you don't have a leg to stand on.

Our defenders are not even that great. Manolas and sokratis are heavily overrated in these forums. But even if we had hummels and bonnuci, without proper midfielders that can retain the ball to relieve pressure, you are always going to struggle.

The bosnian team is much , much better and they proved it. The result would've felt like a loss for them and rightly so.

  6. No way this oly team wins today without assistance. Paok have a better team and showed it. Yet they come away with three points.

Meanwhile a few weeks back we were s%$#! house and have a call against us and the game finishes 0-0

In other words when both pao and oly play bad, we lose points but they don't.

    Gavro won fair and square

PAOK went in and played with BALLS but couldnt finish their chances

Gavro walking away with the title in October....

PAOK has a solid team that will cut points away from PAO, no doubt....

Paok not having a striker is a real shame because they have the best team for me.

They deserved at least a draw

The refs have a duty and again they failed to keep it at 50:50

The fact that this oly team is currently +4, is embarrassing for the league as a whole.

  8. Regarding the ref, yet another great decision. Greek football at its finest....

Oly have shown improvement in their attack build up. Ivic was a clown in the last game, needs to set up the team better defensively. Defend well and you have a chance because oly's defense is embarrassing.

Keep playing the foreigners up front, their your best bet. Enough with klaus and koulouris.

    Good luck boys

I refuse to get sucked into the "idea" that the European refs are out to get us.... this is loser mentality that I refuse to give into....

The calls are questionable however all the refs that have wronged us have come out and spoke that they made incorrect calls

I could be wrong about it being personal. I think we can make better inferences with the remaining 3 games.

Refs generally are renown for keeping the order. Once upon a time, they respected our name, those days are in the past.

Barca, bayern etc would never be on the receiving end of a bad call like that. This i am 100% sure.

I've said it once.. Ill say it again... this team has MASSIVE psychological problems when they get scored on.... Given it wasn't a penalty, but they basically crapped themselves and forgot to play... I don't think this can solely be blamed on fatigue... the team loses it and becomes rattled

3rd game they get screwed, they are human after all.

The bigger issue is not being up to the task physically for 90min. The players are gone at 70min. They push themselves to injury. How do you explain all these injuries? Who is in charge of fitness over there?

  11. ^When you tire, so does the mind. Is it any wonder why we always concede late in games?

We need another strong transfer window to fix the team where it hurts. If we can do this and keep our best players, we can do good things next season. We are definitely at a europa league standard, mostly because most teams are deadbeats.

  12. Even if we won today, it changes nothing. This team is naked in the middle of the park. No ball retention, no closing down (bar zeca). Just like in the celta game, enoh comes on at 70 and we bring on spectator lod. If we had either enoh or trebel, we get the job done. The joke is enoh's agent was in greece shopping him around...

It's a shame because this team has quality at both ends of the park...
