  1. Losing Karagounis, who even started off the bench multiple times near the end, must have had a huge influence as a player. As soon as he went, the Ethniki Collapsed into a re-building phase, lets say.

Coinsidence? Anyway, it would of served Greece well if Santos phased in generation next, on multiple occasions, leading up to World Cup 2014. I know this has been mentioned a lot.

It has taken this long to get some sort of good teamwork on the pitch, resulting in a win and a draw in hostile conditions recently.

The re-building may not be over yet. Greece deserves to be fighting in the Euros! The attitudes of many of the players don't deserve to, and they are not. The successful Santos age didn't invest near enough for this failed Euro campaign. I won't rest on the idea that we just didn't have the talent this time 'round.

  2. To keep picking Tzioli, Skibbe has not got enough trust in Tachtsidis and Samaris as vision-passing type players, to play together as dm's. They would play as one at dm, while the other is at cm. They won't both be dm. Skibbe wants more experience in that zone, and he views Tzioli, unfortunately as one of these, although his passing game is not great quality. At least Petsos is still 22 years old, as is prospective Kourbelis, who must be picked in the squad, and trusted to do what he knows.

  3. It's blatantly obvious there are older ex-NSL supporters of teams like Sydney Olympic or South Melbourne that find the new A League as plastic, cause these and other teams were not seen as the way to go forward in this new league. A League is a whole of Australia approach to soccer, I even like Sydney Oly, but majority population didn't buy into NSL, so other sports continued to get the largest slices of the pie with sponsorships, tv revenues and supporters. So it is more important FFA make Spiro and Con happy and keep Olympic and Melb Hellas, Branko can be happy with Melbourne Croatia being in and Giafancalo who supports Marconi Stallions of Italian background all representing Australian soccer. Play matches with no lighting or at places like king tomislav park.

Residents in Aus need to keep buying into the new A League as it is still tough, yet is making strides with all it's challenges in this market.

  4. Whilst I was doing a couple of helicopter turns to a Mitropanos song, it occurred to me that our defence when on song, with Manolas,Kyriakos and Sokratis  on the pitch @ the one time, why not go 4 3 3 seeing it is more attacking and yet these defenders are talented enough, with Holebas with them, to defend so well. They may not be far off from their mojos as a unit.

The 5 3 2 formation would mean the Jackson five, would have to run more to send passes to the mids, then the front third, which would get less service when they must adjust to a higher line often when required-na poume. Then they adjust to a 3 5 2, and lose the ball and the opposition wingers run around the back three.

Toro would need a Taxi if he does any box to box stuff-pardon the pun. The idea of Oresti being the eldest is the way to go. Bravo Lazo!

  5. The Supercoach has done it again! Leicetser City sit at the TOP of the EPL ladder. Not long ago they were at the foot. Ranieri with players that want to play, has shown his class again! Goes to show what experts we all are, ah ha ha ha.

His current players don't own mirrors or curl brushes and are banned from smoking cigars and telling girls they are national team players and post selfies. True facts!

  6. Toro and Holebas will be 33 & 34 respectfully in 2018. There is a need to be phased out in the next 12-18 months. Need young players to be able to run all day. Toro has slowed down now. They must join Moras, Vyntra and Tzioli out of the squad. Only Oresti as a thirty something should stay for alittle longer.
