  1. Why is the Greek system always like this?

They call it a "klirosi " but in fact it is a standard format with everybody playing the big teams in a row.

The draw is set up to mostly benefit the big teams. For example it is set in a way so there is no chance of having one of the so-called "derbies" in the first 4 to 5 rounds. I would not have any problems seeing an Olympiakos - PAO or PAOK- AEK matchups in Round 1 of Superleague.

  2.  Lastly, somebody needs to sign Goutas from Xanthi. Any news on him?

Goutas signed with Olympiakos, and will promptly be loaned out to one of the satellites. He showed some promise with Xanthi, but going to Olympiakos is a double edged sword.

    Tomorrow I see this lineup:

    ----------------- Olson -------------

    Skondras - Vitor - Costa - Rat

    ------- Kace --------- Tziolis -----

    Kitsiou ----- Pelkas ------- Mak

    ------------ Salpiggidis -----------

If Rat is not ready than I see Tzavellas as left back. I don't see Tudor going with 3-5-2 formation in this game. maybe at Toumba depending on the result tomorrow.

  3. I like the hard line approach by Tudor. Hopefully it will prevent future incidents by other players.

I am certain Lucas is doing this in order to get a transfer, but Depor can't afford the price. If he is doing this to get the price down, I hope Arnesen takes a hard stance on this issue.

I am surprised that Pereyra is following Lucas on the same path. I wonder if they became buddies after Lucas returned back. He did not seem like a trouble maker last season.

  4. Pereyra and Lucas were kicked out of practice today, because they did not pay their 100 Euro fine that they received yesterday from Tudor.

Also tomorrow, a 20-man squad that will travel to Croatia will be announced. The remaining players not selected will travel to Greece. it will be interesting to see which group of players will Pereyra and Lucas follow.

Next Thursday we start our 2015-2016 European campaign, with a very early start against the Croatian side Lokomotiva Zagreb. On paper this should be an easy affair, and hopefully PAOK will be ready by next week in order to get a result that would make things easier at Toumba one week later.

  6. EPO (that includes a dozen members that are under investigation) has cleared Veroia of wrongdoing in the Olympiakos - Veroia match fixing scandal. Veroia was accused that they fixed the match to end in a 3:0 loss to Olympiakos. Now how you do that without the other team being part of the fix is a big mystery to me. That's why I always believed that nothing would come of this.

Now, the ex-owner of Veroia, Arvanitidis is claiming that the whole thing was orchestrated by Melissanidis, the man running AEK. Of note is also the report that Arvanitidis and his son want to take control of Aris. If that happens I am sure EPO will give Aris a straight ticket to the Football League despite the fact that they failed to qualify from  the Amateur division.
