  1. Baghdatis has reached round 4 at Wimbledon, where he will face Britains Andy Murray. The Cypriot ranked 16 in the world finally appeared to hit form by dismantling 15 seed Sebastian Grosjean 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-1. Baghdatis hit some wonderful winners from various areas on the court. Hopeully he can maintain his form as he faces the home favourite. MARCOS-OLE, OLE, OLE!
  2. So maybe with Emerson dropping deeper, Hetemaj will be allowed to roam. Might not be a perfect solution but it could work and provide a livlier and more attacking midfield.
  3. What about the Finnish kid you signed, doesnt he play attacking centre-mid??
  4. Both Marcos Baghdatis and Eleni Danillidou have made the Semi-finals of the S' Hertogenbosch tournament. Marco will face Croat, and favourite for the Tournament, Mario Ancic. Baghdatis will be out for revenge following a 2-6, 7-6, 6-4 defeat at the hands of Ancic when they met earlier in the year at Marseille. This time on Grass the match is highly anticipated. Ancic a tall (6"5), big server will be in contrast to Baghdatis excellent movement and formidable ground strokes. The winner will face the winner of Serra-Hernych. Danillidou promised much in her earlier career. Although she is one of the best 'slicers' in the game her poor fitness and persistant injury woe has blunted her progress. Following a wonderful run at the Athens Olympics where she fought on with real heart, the highlight of her career came at Wimbledon where she upset the odds to defeat the favourite Henin-Hardenne. If Danillidou can beat 'wonder-kid' Safina tomorrow she'll be in line for a repeat with Henin-Hardenne if the Belgium overcomes Clijsters. Victories at S'Hertogenbosch for the 2 Hellenic players will make for a very exciting Wimbledon indeed! GOOD LUCK MARCO AND ELENI! GAMISTE TOUS! :gr: :gr: :gr: :gr: :gr: :gr: :gr: :gr: :gr:
  5. I thought we were playing Middlesborough on the 12/8
  6. Great signing for Greek football! Hopefully Kosta and Karagounis can develop a deeper understanding together also.
  7. Totally agree, Amanatidis could be an essential element!
  8. No,it was Bajevic my friend. Pedia ehete kai oi dio dikio! O Giovanni itan poli m#$%!s me to Liverpool, tipota den prosfere stin omada, alla kai o Bajevic yiati den ebexe ton Okka pou itan o kaliteros paihtis entos edras? O Giovanni den kani yia ton Olympiako pia, an erthi kai piso stin Ellada kanei yia kamia omada san tin Xanthi yia na ferei peira, tipota allo.
  9. If Samaras is performing like this come the qualifiers there is no way he should start! You say he's playing in a side with a lot of negativity, well top strikers drag their team through situations like that, not go missing. Shearer at Newcastle for example. Haristeas stats have been impressive this year, and Amanatidis has been exceptional all year! They should start. At the moment, Samaras is playing like a lazy striker with no hunger. For a team like Greece that has no width and problems providing the strikers with an abundance of chances the striker needs to be hard-working, and Samaras isn't. If he doesnt improve he'll be missing in the qualifiers. You make out as if Samaras is an exceptional player, in reality he is a decent youngster. If we still had Nikolaidis, and Vryzas he wouldn't get a look in! In fact, if Konstantinou and Okkas were eligible Samaras wouldnt get a look in either on current performances!!! Amanatidis is the new man for Greece not Samaras.
  10. I agree file, he has talent. I think the problem is that he was hyped up too much, and the fans expected him to be a finished article. He should have been portrayed as a promising youngster. I hope the pressure doesnt get to him!
  11. Absolutely terrible against Arsenal, there were City fans asking for him to be sold!!!
  12. I've one of his biggest critics here, not because he isnt talented but because he's a bit lazy and weak on the ball. Today he looked broader and fitter, Pearce has got him pumping weights. As for the game, you should've seen what happened! A player was up his arse on the edge of the box with his back to goal. The ball got rolled into him, he let the ball run threw his legs toward his right side, and he spun off to the left. His team mate played it back into his path (so it was kind of like a 1-2), the keeper rushed out and he chipped it over the keeper only for a defender to brilliantly head it out from under the bar. Would have been a sensational goal!
  13. Samara buried one on 52 mins. They are 2-1 down though. Ela re Giorgare, get 2 more!
  14. POLI m#$%!S O PEARCE! Samara had a severely swolen knee and he risked him! What if he's torn a ligament? Kala na pathei pou vgike apo to kipello!
  15. He's Great,He's Greek, He smashes dinner plates, SAMARAS! SAMARAS!
  16. The only way that players like D'acol will improve is if he plays in the A Ethniki for a smaller side or if he goes on loan to Cyprus. The B Ethniki just isn't good enough for him to develop! Another option would be to go to the lower divisions in England, somewhere where they have a striking problem like Millwall or Sheff Wed. Or Scottish Prem, like Livingston. The development facilities are more advanced than the Greek 2nd div so is the footballing level. He'll also learn to play in a different style of league adding to his experience. His agent needs to get on the case. :gr:
  17. Does anyone have the goal to upload please?
  18. He did hustle for that goal. But how many times did City break down the wing through Sinclair who waited and waited for Samara to jog in to the box? He doesn't make good runs into the box, or indeed anywhere. You're right though, he is cunning, and that enables him to create space for himself in the hole behind the front man but when it comes to making good runs to get into a goalscoring positions he is poor.
  19. Samaras played excellently in the 1st half. 2 great finishes and some wonderful passing to open up the play. He was easily the best player on the pitch! In the second he started giving the ball away alot and appeared to tire. He's got alot of talent, I just hope he can master it and learn from his mistakes. His movement was still poor and he seems very lazy! He has to improve these aspects of his game!
  20. Saw the Villa game. Samara has alot of talent but he has no passion! He doesn't fight for every ball and when he loses possession (which, let's face it, he does alot) he doesn't chase back! He still needs alot of work. :gr: :gr: :gr:
