  1. Some points If Fortounis doesn't start, this game could have ended 0-0. It's taken the 5th game of the NL for JVS to work it out. Hopefully, not too late. Bakasetas finally scored in open play. Tziolis. I haven't been this excited about a Greek player since Samaras in 2005 and Fortounis in 2012. We are spoilt at LB; Tzimikas, Giannoulis Why is finishing top of Group C important? 1. Automatic promotion to League B; 2. Play better teams in League B, which can accelerate the run up the FIFA rankings; and 3. Possible 2nd chance, to qualify for Qatar WC. Huge game with Slovenia.

  2. I never thought I would ever say, 'I love your style' friend, the fact you have turned over a new leaf! Despina came over for some milk and some origano again and she also echoes my sentiments as well!

  3. If we put aside our differences on JVS to get along for the one final game, there’s no saying what mankind can’t do! @Boxou and I are now on the same side. And in honor of that matrimony I will say something negative about JVS and hopefully he says something nice about JVS .. ok here it goes.... JVS has made some questionable decisions what it comes to choosing the starting 11, also I hate his turtleneck that he wears on gameday. Is it too much to ask for a shirt and tie?

  4. In the 1st half the Ethniki generated alot of chances and looked sharp and eventually scored the 2 goals. The 2nd half once JVS took out Fortounis we lacked creativity and in attack and started to see out the win. Pavlidis has struggled since he was introduced into the NT, I want Giakoumakis to start he is a big target man and can hold up the ball much better than Pavlidis. I think with a few changes vs Slovenia we should be able to get a victory at home and take this group. I am optimistic going into the World Cup qualifiers the team is getting results and improving. If we have our full team available we will be a tough out. Also i hope JVS will reach out to Manolas and get him back into the fold as he will solidfy our backline.

  6. Tzavellas should be no where near the national team for me. We have better CBs. Kyriakopoulos isn’t as special as Tsimikas, Giannoulis or even Koutris. He still has to prove himself, especially for Greece. Fortounis is our best player.

  7. Bouchalakis hasn't impressed. In the last UCL game, he was the person that cost OLY the first goal. Bakasetas did score a goal and he did give the assist. I think he has a spot on the team, just not as the captain/starting AM.

  9. That only applies Euro qualifying, for World cup qualifying it gives us a chance of making the playoffs through the backdoor. Basically all runners up from the World Cup qualifiers proper will make the playoffs, while the best 2 ranked teams from the Nations League who don't secure direct or playoff qualification through the regular qualifiers will make it to the playoffs. A win against Slovenia guarantees not only promotion to League B but also that we will be the best ranked team in League C. How ever unlikely that we get into the playoffs through the Nations league, the win will ensure we've done all we can to give ourselves that opportunity.

  10. I think we can all agree for as long as I can remember most guys on here don’t want to see Bakasetas play including myself.. The team looked good in the first half and that’s a big thanks to Fortounis who I’ve always said is hands down our best and most consistent player.. I’m happy about the win but what drives me crazy is at one point the Slovenia game was 1-1 and we needed to score 3 or more goals to over take them and JVS takes off Fortounis instead of Bakasetas, where is the logic in that? Bakasetas was horrible today and was fortunate to have a ball gifted to him by Fortounis. To this day I’m still so damn confused with what the love is with him as he ruins any attack and flow the team has yet he’s the captain and a guaranteed starter.. I also think if Mantalos was healthy we probably wouldn’t of seen Fortounis. anyways on to the next game, like so many in here have already said if we can’t beat Slovenia we simply don’t deserve to play in group B yet alone a World Cup with much stiffer competition.

  11. The only one who hurts here is probably you, the manager and everyone else who bashed on Fortounis saying he should stay in the bench. Unfortunately the team was missing Mantalos to start over him and worry in the end of the game why the team dropped points to Moldova.

  12. Needless to say fortounis is our best and most consistent player. I honestly rate him in the likes of manolas and Sokratis. I am glad we have gone back to complaining about how bad the NT played in wins. It’s refreshing considering our performances in the past few years

  13. 2-0 Greece.. Fortounis was incredible today what a strike and a nice assist. He was unlucky not to have another goal.

  14. That's fine, we should be able to win at home to Slovenia. Time to prove the ethniki is really back!

  15. Scotland? If we draw with Estonia, it would be us in the playoffs and not Hungary. Hungary got through to the finals.
