It's not perfect and he does things I don't agree with (I agree with you Lambropoulos coming on was ridiculous as was the Bouchalakis sub) My issue is you were no were to be seen in the 1st half when we were playing quite well, the 2nd half starts and Kosovo have 2 chances and look who's back again!! Im gonna disagree with a lot of people here by the way. There is a huge problem at the CF, something we didnt have with Mitroglou the years 2013-2018. On those ages we made a few good chances on each match (that was the problem) yet he did manage to get a lot of them to go in. Now we have a totally different problem. We create by the fcking ton. And I mean a lot. I ve never seen the Ethniki create that much like it did in the last 3 games of NL. Kossovo - Moldova - Kossovo. I know the opposition is low but our opposition was equally low on the 2016 Euro Campaign , 2018 WC Campaign and 2020 Euro Campaign (excluding Belgium and Italy we re talking about nonexistent defences on all our campaigns - don't forget the 2 years ago Nations League). You wanna talk about how we should ve scored more past moldova? Watch our "golden year's video to be a reminder of how we played vs such nation. I like the football of JVS. I do not like the selections, but if in the few years on going players like Tsimikas Limnios Giannoulis , Lamprou (my personal favorite) Retsos, Masouras (the Olympiakos RB loanie in Poland), Tzolis, Vasiliadis develop to their potential and players like Fountas, Fortounis Pelkinho , Chatzidiakos (as a CB), Vlachodimos, Zeka remain decent performancewise, we re in it for a decent squad. In other words. The team ain't ready for success yet.

We definitely have to come in first in this group there is no France, Spain or other powerhouse nation in this group. Also from a confidence standpoint Greece need to have 1st going into World Cup qualifiers. That said there are 2 games left and Greece should beat Moldova and then it comes down to beating Slovenia at home. I am just annoyed that we couldn’t find a single goal today it’s reminiscent of the games vs Estonia and Faroes. The first half the team played fluid football and we should have been up 2 goals by half. Bakasetas has been better of late but he can’t finish even misses a pk that changed the complexion of the match, maybe he’s a tad unlucky with the NT who knows but JVS should not start him going forward. Pavlidis is working hard and has technical ability but he can’t finish some simple goals in the 6 yard box maybe the nerves are getting to him? I say let Fountas start and see if he can be the guy to finish off the chances. The commentator mentioned under JVS that we are playing better and are tough to beat since he has been in charge. I just hope he makes some changes that will make the NT much better no more Tzavellas, Bouchalakis please. Fortounis should have started if he’s on the pitch and takes the pk it’s a goal. Also maybe JVS has a talk with Manolas and sees if he will buy into his way of how he wants the NT to play, function etc. and maybe he comes back and it makes us much better in the back. Also we are missing Tsimikas and if Donis is in form there is another key piece. There is time to fix some of the issues and let’s all hope we have the best starting 11 and bench players come March because we have to make the World Cup anything else is unacceptable.

When these guys get to the national team, the forwards forget what they usually do week in week out and have difficulty scoring goals. As for Sok and Manola making the difference, thats what I said against Leinchestein and Faroes as well.

Look with abit more chemistry we could probably win 5-0 against Mulled-over. The run down may well be: 2 penalties, one goal from a CB, one from one of the fullbacks and an own goal by them I'd say.

I agree with both of you! jvs made a lot of well overdue changes, but there's still more work to be done. He said in the post gamer that that review and adjust after each game.... Well he better actually start fcking doing that cause that sort of logic and take on things looked non existent in the 3 games. Instead it looked like groundhog day with Bill Murray. I'm all for him trying things out, np trying a cb at rb cause you don't trust your young called up rb. Also np trying tzavellas at cb which has been his natural club position for a few yrs now, and nothing wrong with having a vet in the squad. And yes it's a rebuild, so there will be ups and downs, but even in a rebuild common sense still applies and I think we're all seeing some familiar issues coming back. Albeit not the same as before, but definitely things that shouldn't still be lingering. Anyways, let's see what he puts on the field in the next round of games and we'll go from there.

I agree with you, we have good pieces and the guys you mentioned are heading in the right direction, it’s a young team and it will go through it’s up and downs before they start winning more consistently.. That’s how a rebuild is done.. For people who think the coach is going to snap his fingers and all of all of a sudden this team will be a top 20 team again obviously don’t have the knowledge of what an actual rebuild is.. There’s a learning curve and these young guys are going to lose games in order to learn how to win. Right now it’s important that young talent we value get there feet wet and start playing regularly to gain the experience.. This team will eventually come together and for the people who think changing the coach is the answer obviously haven’t been paying attention as we’ve gone through what 5 or 6 coaches with no change in results.. This coach had the balls to see the team was not going anywhere with the the “original” team so he’s started to rebuild the team which was well overdo.. I still don’t like a lot of his selections and decision making but we need to give him the opportunity for the 2020 World Cup and if they show progress but still don’t make it then that just means the team was not ready yet becasue changing the coach won’t do s%$#! right now for this team..

Της ίδιας γνώμης είμαι κι εγώ και νομίζω πως ο Ματίγια θα είναι στο αρχικό σχήμα όπως και ο Μαντσίνι. Δεν ξέρουμε τι δουλεύτηκε στην ανάπαυλα αλλά σίγουρα θα υπάρξουν 5 αλλαγές. Για να παίρνουν σειρά και οι καινούργιοι. Λογικά ο Ματέο θα είναι από την αρχή στον αγώνα και για να χωρέσουν Γκάμα, Μπερτόλιο και Μαντσίνι για τη πίεση ψηλά δεν αποκλείω να δούμε τον Μαντσίνι στη θέση φορ. Ο Απόλλων είναι άγνωστη ομάδα κι ίσως άπειρη ακόμη στο χορτάρι. Γι' αυτό υποθέτω πως θα πιέσουμε ψηλά για 20΄ στο 1ο μέρος ώστε να εκμεταλλευτούμε τυχόν λάθη των αμυντικών. Στο 2ο όπου θα παίξουμε σετ παιχνίδι βλέπω σίγουρο τον Γκάμα μαζί με δημιουργικούς παίκτες στην επίθεση. Όπως και να έχει όμως με 5 αλλαγές οι συνδυασμοί των αλλαγών είναι πολλοί και ο Μάντζιος έχει την πρώτη εικόνα από την κατάσταση των παικτών. Πιθανότατα θα δούμε σαν αλλαγές τον Σίλβα και τον Κάτσε και ίσως άλλους παίκτες μας σε άλλους ρόλους (πχ Μαντσίνι αριστερά...) Δεν νομίζω πως θα είναι από τα πιο ήσυχα απογεύματα μας -γιατί μικρές ομάδες δεν υπάρχουν, και θα έπρεπε αυτό να το είχαμε μάθει πια- ωστόσο ευελπιστώ στη νίκη. Είτε εύκολα, είτε δύσκολα. Θέλω όμως να δω την ομάδα να φτάνει στο εύκολο γκολ πριν αρχίσουν τα ντέρπι.

Το δίδυμο Jeggo-Kace είναι για παιχνίδια με μεγαλύτερη προσοχή στην ανασταλτική λειτουργία, ο Matilla είναι πιο δημιουργικός.

Good calls although Donis has played around 10 matches and did't look like scoring, either does Masouras. They need more confidence and how do they get this? Don't know except play some more and hope it turns around and the forwards eventually start scoring. Having Kourbelis alongside Carlos Zeca are much the same. One off these positions need to be more offensive. Maybe Pelkas, Vasilliadis or Galanopoulos can play there. Why has Fetfa pissed off multiple Ethniki's managers. He has not played there since who knows. I wonder why? A lack of fitness or professionalism?

Skibbe was an ok coach (although he messed up firstly with Holebas and later in nations league) and managed a very poor team in terms of talent. Almost had them in the world cup but had to overcome Belgium and Croatia, eventual runners up and 3rd placed team of the tournament. Van Clown is getting paid to sub on a CB instead of another CB when the team needs to score. What's also retarded is that the so called CB was eventually supposed to cover the RB position...

J1078 right on with the so called “fans”that come on here after the games and seem to be happy that Ethniki didn’t win or get a result. Like I said before they might be long suffering fans of say a Canada or El Salvador for example and have never seen footballing success like Greece who have won a major 🏆 and have qualified for 3 World Cups while they’re used to seeing there countries qualification hopes are usually caput after the first cycle of qualifying. Pavlidis actually showed me why he got selected today, and I could see him succeeding. He plays a a good false 9, where he keeps his back against the goal, receives the ball (with a good touch) and lays it off to the wingers. I’m not sure if this is the coaches intention but I think it could work if he puts an actual left wing in there. Limnios and Pavlidis has a good thing going in the first half. bakasetas penalties (in both games) were horrible.. wayyyy too close to the keeper. You can’t play it too safe with the penalties. However, we should have won this game regardless of the penalty. happy to see vlacho in goal. Considering our defensive selections we’ve been enjoying several clean sheets. While playing a more attacking football than we have in the past bouchalakis was more effective in the sidelines... he Was just doing everything but the right thing.. Not a great game, but I’m hopeful we can beat Slovania

Bakesetas deserves a place on the team, shouldn't start. Bouchalakis I agree with. Pavlidis couldn't score but could hold the ball up. A few changes and I think we would do really well..

If we can’t come first in a group with Slovenia, Kosovo, Moldova then we have no chance of qualifying for the World Cup where we will face much better opponents in the qualifiers.. In saying that I’m not going to be negative like a little bitch because even the previous Greek teams with the “stud defenders” were drawing against weaker opponents as well. At least we see flashes of the teams being able to make good plays we just lack a finisher as we always have.. Mitro was the only finisher we had but was a useless player in every other aspect of the game.. I still think this team will win there next two games and top the group.. Some guys on here are just to f***ing much, They wait for the game to be over and they come out with the I told you so attitude like give it a f***ing rest.. The team has potential and is rebuilding and you need to take away the positives of the match and for the most part other then a few minutes of a mental breakdown we controlled the entire game..

Again, not sure why the negativity. When we were playing the likes of Latvia and Luxembourg under Santos, we never played this well. At least we are organized, playing some nice balls through, and pressing the whole time!!! The team as a whole is playing better.

Look at it this way, if you had employees named Sokratis Pap, Manolas and Siovas white-anting your business, you would get rid of them, NO Question. Stafy plays better at FB than Tzavellas, but Tzavellas plays better as CB than Stafy, I believe. Staf is injured anyway. Tzav adds experience to the squad under the circumstances even though he is not ideal. At least one of the Ethniki's greatest DM's of all time, often preferred by multiple gaffas, with 75 caps to his name is not recalled this time, that man being Alexandros Tziolis! You may have ridiculed yourself because you are not done, you will be back for the next game, you know it!
