It was a very exciting stretch to open the 2nd half, between Jonas' chance and Mitroglou's whiffed chance. I like the spirit of the Estadio de Luz, and think the fans can motivate Mitroglou or Jimenez to put one in the back of the net to send it to ET and penalties. The defense should have gained some confidence that they can bring back home. That might be the most realistic chance Benfica has. I'm quickly becoming a fan.

Mitro had 2 chances to put them at the back of the net but his shooting muscle mechanics failed him. Similar to the flop shot he had via the Torosidis cross that he fumbled against Montenegro. He needs to work on his brain to leg shooting mechanics from fast crosses. Samaris didn't start but looked solid to keep Bayern from getting a 2nd goal. It'll be tough without Jonas (two yellow card game suspension) to get a win in Portugal, but not a crazy idea. Hopefully Benfica can pull off a shocker.

Im very excited for Benfica's match with Bayern today. Mitroglou and Samaris can make a big impression. I would be keen for them to stay put at Benfica. They seem to have so much fun playing with those guys. Benfica has such an energy to them on the pitch. They really seem to get along.

Tzavellas should not be playing as CB. He should be playing LB, which is his position. Instead Malezas loses his spot in the lineup. The CB spot should be reserved for Vitor, Chatziisaias and Malezas. Tzavellas should be sharing his position with Leovac.

I have no idea as to how I come across, but I believe I can explain Vasko?s point of view. Namely: 1) Our Alexandroplectic neighbors did not like the Ottomans. See the Ilinden revolt/uprising. 2) Since there is no rational defense for the Alexandrian psychosis of his nation, Vasko prefers to attack. If we lie about our own history through commission or omission, we are no different from his Alexandromaniacs. 3) In my opinion, a nation that censors its history lies to itself. In his last tourney with the ethniki I must admit I wanted Katsourani's head on a pike when he got red carded. However over the course of his career he made a huge contribution to the best days the Greek National team ever had, he was a good player skill wise and a leader, which is lacking these days.

I watched extensive highlights of the game. This team, the way they play, isn't good enough for Europe. Yes, no Leto, no win last Sunday. We struggled to beat a team that is at the bottom of the league. A combo Leto-Berg will be nice for us for the playoffs. I'd be hopeful if we had Ouzounidi as a coach. He's got Panionios performing above their wildest expectations.
