  1. The one that was in the plans from a year back, seemed excessive for us. Even if all of the teams practiced simultaneously. I'd be much more interested in a covered stadium. Get that incredible atmosphere tuned just right, acoustics-wise...would be a sight (and sound) to behold.

  2. My father's village isn't far from there. He's from Askos near Sochos. You're correct though about Greeks being somewhat xenophobic. Having foreigners in a country, as long as it's done right, can be a really good thing.

  4. I disagree. Bigger names, what do they mean in Greece? Look at all our 'big' names who have come to AEK to retire in the sun! Just because a player is not well know or a bug name at first (Blanco, Scocco, Johansen) doesn't mean they won't be good. We have to get out of this mentality of 'spending more'. We spend what we can afford to ensure our club operates as a legitimate business. How much money did we pay Gudjonsen per minute of playing time? Thousands!!! Yes, we need a few more players, however, I don't want to see us turn over our whole roster. Stick with predominantly Greeks who play for each other and for AEK!!!

  6. So it cost Savvidis close to 11 mil to pay the debt created by the crooks (Batatoudis, Goumenos, Zagorakis, etc.). Big feat considering he did not create a single Euro in debt since he took over. He paid dearly for other people's mistakes. This move Ivan, can only mean one thing. He is not going anywhere. Now I expect him to proceeds with his other plans (new training grounds/refurbished Toumba). Hopefully he will also clean up the front office and hires people that will try to make the team competitive.

  7. I find it hard to be angry with Syriza. Some of their ideas annoy me, even astound me, because in this day and age it can't work like that anymore. For proof they only need look back to the failures of the last 3 decades. But all in all, I just find them naive. As for ND/PASOK, I have a white-hot burning anger towards them, because they knew better. They are not naive and know how things work. But they didn't do anything about it. Posters here will say it was because there was too much resistance from the left. Bollocks. They were comfortable and happy to sit on the throne. As long as they got to eat lobster every night, what did they care. Just see Kostas Karamanlis for an example of a rat. Legally they may have not broken any laws, but morally and in my eyes, they are criminals of the highest order. They were in charge of the nation, and instead chose to line their own pockets. Bravo, enjoy your lobsters.

  8. Look guys, Iceland is a different story. Iceland doesn't have the same immigration problem, Iceland wasn't exposed to the EU the way we were, Iceland doesn't have the threat of being invaded by Canada, Greenland, or the Antarctic isles lol. Iceland has a different population and a different lifestyle. For the most part they seem like a much more content and less corrupt nation. A population that gets by on Beer and knitting, is different from your average Greek hahaha Also I don't think any serious political conversation should ever have the name KKE in it. That party is a farce. If any of you remember, last elections, Syriza had the opportunity to come to power then as well, but KKE made the statement we've all known for years, basically saying they don't even intend to assume power in Greece. So basically they are only there to block reform, disagree without giving solutions, give power to street thugs and union pimps, and pretty much sit on the sideline and watch..........The fact that this piece of s%$#! group consistently pulls 5-7% says a lot once again about the Greek voter.

  9. KKE would be banned in any civilised country..or at least laughed out of existence..only in Greece they are still relevant because we are carrying 70 years of 'baggage'... KKE would create zero jobs and shut the country down..
