Farawayeagle
Hi guys. I'm a Crystal Palace fan and I just want to check out what you think of Sandor and what you believe will happen when his loan runs out at the end of the season?
adonis
I for one think his a decent striker and he needs more starts under his belt to prove some critics wrong! There are a large number of fans here that think he is a waste of space. True he hasnt scored but he looks like a solid player that can hold the ball well and moves well on the pitch. He is young (22-23 i think) so it looks like he has a good future ahead of him, whether he stays at PAO or returns i think that comes down to 3 factors - Malezani - i think one reason he hasnt been playing alot lately is bc he was furious in one game at been subbed and Malezani didnt take a likening to that - His form in the next half of the season - Money - prolly the biggest factor - how much is crystal asking and wat are sandors demands
choc13
500,000 euros at end of yr they will ask for
almamatter
I had high hopes for him replacing an other striker that left us for our Arch-rivals in Greece. I think that the fact that he hasn't scored as yet has made him loose his cool and plays terribly. While he showed good stuff in the start of the season and created good scoring chances now he has become a selfish player that just ties to score by himself never passing or attampting to do a 2-1-2 pass with his fellow players. He also plays a ruf game which always leads to a yellow card and the coach usually has to change him because he seems to not be able to hold his nerves and that there is a possibility that he will get a second one (which means red). I don't see him staying with us after the season ends.

trifilli
Hi guys. I'm a Crystal Palace fan and I just want to check out what you think of Sandor and what you believe will happen when his loan runs out at the end of the season? Let me reverse the question, Farawayeagle.Would you like him back at C.P.? PEACE
Farawayeagle
Yes. But only if he gets a serious run in the team. Strikers never get a level of consistency unless they play regularly. Palace and Panathinaikos don't seem to have given Torghelle that opportunity. The Hungarian national team has played him regularly -- and he has scored important goals for them. cyberfish
Teams like Panathinaikos can't afford to wait for forwards to develop. They need to score with very few chances because the competition is high. If they don't, I don't think anyone (coaches or fans) have the patience to wait for them to hit their stride. Panathinaikos had three proven goal scorrers at the beginning of the season: Gekas, Papadopoulos, Olisadebe, and Mantzios began scoring with less chances than Torghelle. Why would he get any more chances over the others? I personally would like to see him play a little more, but above all I want to see goals from our strikers no matter who they are. Farawayeagle
I notice he doesn't seem to be on the bench. Is there any story about what is happening with Torghelle now the window has closed. Can Panathinaikos send him back to Palace or is it a one season loan? Steve07
They probably don't want to play him that much in fear that they will have to pay for him. It is the only reason I can think of.
bar7
he has ability. hasnt been given much of a chance here. i'd like to see him stay, but i think PAO is going towards a Greek youth movement
NikosVazelas
Actually he is on loan and if pao decides to keep him they have to pay 500k to crystal palace, if not he goes back there.. I think he is a good player and he has helped this team more then on paper.. He was the one that was placed next to mantzios at the beginning of the season and was the one who helped establish mantzio as our futur star striker even assisting on his first goal against werder bremen.. he had a falling out with malesani during a substitution even causing the fans to boo the italian.... I truly believe he could become a great striker if given a chance.. Unfortunately, he will probably not get that chance with PAO.. Too bad.. he is a great player... starting cf for hungary too... he must be good if he is one of 11 players of a country.. no matter what country... besides, hungary isnt that bad a team... decide for yourselves.. later skaters.. trifilli
I would like to see him play also. His situation looks bleak, mostly since all PAO forwards are healthy and performing up to standards. Trust me, if we owned him, he would be playing more ... ;) PEACE
bar7
seems like Torg & Malesani got into it the other day.. He'll get paid whatever money that owed to him & will be let go.. Its too bad he never really got a shot, & the form of others didnt help him either
athinaios
I can't see any scenario for him staying past this season. We have more than enough strickers--don't forget Kritikos & Gantzev.... I still think we need to beef up our defense.
Farawayeagle
Is this story in the Greek press? drakos13
dont blame alberto for Torghelle not cutting it. look who hes competing with.....Mantzios was on fire earlier in the season, gkekas is now, pap is just starting... i think he sits for a good reason! pao123
togelle is a very good striker i just dont think he fits into our system very well..we also have many strikers who are more then capable of starting and scoring goals which makes it tough for him to break into the squad...to e hnest i would rather see greeks like gkekasa, papdopoulos and manztios starting over torgelle even though sandor can offer something different in our attack...
