evalagoal
No matter what everyone this is something that we (EPO) need to look at seriously and see what's going to happen come qualification time. Also whomever is going to be the coach he has to make a deciosion of using veteran players, youth or a mixture of both.. This will be the future of Greek Soccer here soooooo this needs to be taken VERY seriosuly. Ideal group for us....... I don't think that there is one. The most ideal group was the group that Portugal just played in for the WC Qualifying..... (What a joke) Lets just givem' hell and play good soccer.... That's all I want
SoussouGreek
Ela re paidia. The ideal group.... well if we play Greek soccer the way it is supposed to be played, we will be keeping our Euro trophy. Remember in 2004 we played Spain, Russia, Portugal twice, France and the Czech Republic. Not exactly an easy road to the championship. :gr:
Korisos
this qualifying format is much better, all we have to do is finish top 2 and not worry about playoffs or anything....easier to handle psychologically, i like the format B)
Guest geok
Honestly, if we don't qualify for Euro 2008 with such a group selection, it will be a disaster. My personal Favourite draw would be: (1) ELLAS (2) Romania/Poland/Croatia (3) Bulgaria/Norway/Ukraine (4) Scotland/Slovenia (5) Lithuania/Wales/Estonia/Finland (6) Cyprus/Moldavia/FYROM/Belarus/Northern Ireland (7) San Marino/Luxemburg/Faroe Islands With these choices, we have an excellent chance (in my opinion) in going through to the Euro 2008. Irlandos
Honestly, if we don't qualify for Euro 2008 with such a group selection, it will be a disaster... . It's not automatic! What if we get a group like this: 1. GREECE 2. Italy 3. Ukraine 4. Rep. Ireland 5. Finland 6. Belarus 7. Malta (
aekrossoponti
i think its going to be a hard group no matter what...we never had an easy group in the last few years...given that i think our world cup qualifying group this year was easier to qualify than last world cups group with germany, england, finland, albania
AEKGATE21
I would love to play turkey and Ukraine again this time with dellas at the back, you know Ukraine are not as good as everyuone out there is making them out to be, and as for turkey the 2 0-0 draws there has to be a 3rd and deciding round :gr:
loup
Hopefully no Ireland or Belgium from D - like th Ukraine in WC - we don't need a tough 4 seed Some good news - we were a 3 seed for WC 2006 - and we would have been a 2 seed if we didn't get the auto #1 - :gr:

plato-ny
How qualifying will work for Euro 2008 (this was recently re-posted...) Three points are awarded for a win, one point for a draw, and no points for a defeat. If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the qualifying group matches, the following criteria will be applied to determine the rankings. - Higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question. - Superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in question. - Higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the teams in question. - Higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches played among the teams in question. - If, after applying criteria a) to d) to several teams, two or more teams still have an equal ranking, the criteria a) to d) will be reapplied to determine the ranking of these teams. If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria f) and g) will apply. - Results of all group matches: 1. Superior goal difference 2. Higher number of goals scored 3. Higher number of goals scored away from home 4. Fair play conduct. - Drawing of lots.

plato-ny
More fixtures Fifty teams will be attempting to gain entry to the 2008 showpiece with Austria and Switzerland qualifying automatically as co-hosts of the final round in three summers' time. The same number set out on the road to Portugal in 2004 when sides were grouped into ten sections of five; this time every competing nation will have a busier fixture schedule. There will be one group of eight teams with the other six pools made up of seven. GREECE, as holders, are in pot 1 and are joined by England and the Netherlands who four years previously were both ranked among the second tier. Germany fall Conversely Germany, Italy, Turkey, Spain and Romania have moved down the rankings and all know they will have to face one of the strongest sides – GREECE, Netherlands, Portugal, England, Czech Republic or France – home and away over the next couple of seasons.
